Atheists are Loud Here!!!

As you can see from my avatar, I'm new here. I've been engaged mostly in the "Christianity & other religions" forum. I seem to be heavily outnumbered by atheists, but again, maybe it's the forum I choose to be in a lot.

I wonder if someone who's been around for a longer time can say if the the voice of the atheist has increased in number and volume over time. I don't mind it really. When I bid my introduction in the new member forum, I specifically said I was hoping to be "challenged" and not just "affirmed". Ask and ye shall receive :crazy

I have the greatest Coach :biglol but it wouldn't hurt to have more team mates.

Have veterans seen an increase in atheism here?

yes, since around the late 1800's, when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert ruled England, the devil has been working to eradicate Christianity, and belief in the bible.
Lately though, yes, there has been a lot more emboldened atheists, and secular, hogwash Christians, come up.
Thanks to purpose driven churches, various versions of the bible, and taking God and the 10 Commandments out of schools and public.

I'm not a veteran, but Ihave seen a rise in Atheism. It has certainly increased and it’s everywhere; not just on the forums. The internet community has seemed to be more secular to begin with from my experience. But since sixth grade, I have had about five of my friends admit to non-theism or convert to it. It’s been about four years since then.
But society is becoming more liberal and accepting of sin, so the result is less Christian/biblical Christians and an increasing number of Agnostics and Atheists. So when it comes to Christian forums - or for that matter, any type of forums - that is going to be the result as well.

From what I've seen, it ebbs and flows. Sometimes it seems like there are many of them, and sometimes just a trickle, but they have always had a presence here :yes . The whole sites goes through that sort of thing from time to time as well, things will get quiet for a bit, and then BAM! Everyone's posting at once. My husband (Blazin Bones) has been posting here since 2004 and there were atheists here back then as well. :thumb

From what I've observed, I would agree.

We also have floods of certain topics as well. For example, during about March/April last year we had heaps of gun topics (which returned late last year), we also have floods of tounges topics, trinity topics etc. The flow of members is similar. Sometimes we get floods of Mormons or JW's. Same applies to atheists.

But it is also the forum you're posting in..If you go to Christian Talk & Advice, then there's no atheists there! :P
Naturally most of the atheists seem to migrate more towards the Other Religions forum more than any other.

I really like the way you put it, as well Cheyenne. :)

I agree this is most certainly the case around here. :thumb

What concerns me much more than atheist is the modern day lukewarm American so called christian. Professing Christ in word, but denying Him in deed, being abominable, disobedient, and in every good work reprobate Titus 1:16. When a person claims christianity goes to church every Sunday, but lives in sin, in open rebellion to God, and His word. That is far more sinister than the hard core atheist shaking his fist toward the sky cursing the God they claim not to believe in. Not only is it a shame to the name of Jesus every time one of the sinners claim Him as their Savior, but it is a slap in the face to every true Christian honesty trying their best to live a life pleasing to God.

I agree that in a way they're more dangerous to us than atheists. One small bit of yeast quickly infects the entire batch.

Agreed.
Atheists tend to address the same objections previously posted by other atheists in the past. But I've seen some really strange posts by some claiming to be Christians. Those will keep you on your toes. :D

There are a lot of disconnected people at my church. I'm glad some people are there, but sometimes I wonder why they are. They seem disconnected and absent. They show up at church, don't volunteer for anything, don't seek nourishment outside of the service (i.e. Bible study) and they do just enough to get by. Their kids attend only mandatory Bible studies in order to be confirmed. We have school associated to our church. Many have their kids at the minimal amount of worship services in order to qualify for a member discount.

Sometimes I feel guilty of judging their faith. That's between them and the Lord, so I feel like I need to leave it alone. But as an elder at our church, I'm supposed to minister to the spiritual welfare of our congregation. So, I'm a bit in conflict. I'm feeling very judgmental, but it's frustrating. :rolling

As for this board, I hope there aren't new impressionable Christians running into as many atheists as I am. I know what I'm getting into when I post on the "... Other Religions" board, but they wind up in other areas as well.

I find it completely bemusing that athiests invade Christian forums - it happens on other sites as well.
Maybe they are trying to find God ? albeit in their own strange manner :)
