Bible Study AV or RV

And you can do some research (having an open mind and not clinging to any 'idols of the heart') by checking out: http://www.kjvonly.org/
Thanks - I have seen this site before and been through it - I believe it is the old party who have ignored the documentation presented to them.

I'm glad you are interested in finding truth - often times the truth hurts.

God bless

I was looking back over this and recall a time when I was where Gendou Ikariis at this current time. I never much gave any thought as to why there were so many translations or just how we came by the bible or who translated it into our own language. Then one day, my interest got stirred for some reason and I began questioning just why all the different bibles and did it really make a lot of difference. I felt they all were God's word-just written somewhat differently. I knew nothing of the Sinaiticus or Vaticanus, even less who Origen, Westcott and Hort, Clement or Erasmus was. I started doing some research and was blown away by what I had found. Not being one to believe what all I had read and heard, the research and comparing black and white print from several bibles to another really opened my eyes. When you see it on the internet is one thing, but; when you have several different types of bibles and start doing some comparative work is "a horse of another color". I was shocked and to a degree still am that man can take the words of God and misconstrue and corrupt them for his own monetary gain. And-that's what it primarily is all about, money. At least today it is.

Ask yourself this-why after nearly 400 years of it's existence, is the King James bible still with us and why it's the only bible that isn't copyrighted. The maps may be, but not the text. All the other modern versions have a copywrite which means they had to change something to gain that copyright. Add words, delete words or entire verses...something had to change. Maybe a dynamic equivalence or a gender neutral word of God would suffice. Big bucks in all this and guys like Rupert Murdock of Harper-Collins fame has become rich from this as well as his other escapades.

Do indeed study and research for yourself. Don't take anyone's word for it. Look into this topic diligently yourself and chances are, you'll come to the same conclusion AV, myself and others have.

Some interesting, enlightening and most informative links may help along with some good books on this subject are available. Bottom line-prayerfully seek the face of God on matters such as this and pray for discernment as to what is true.. These links will help anyone sincere in this dilemma to learn more about just how we happened to get the bible and how it was translated into English and about those that lost their lives in the process of that translation only to have heretics like Westcott and Hort, 300 years later, corrupt the true word of God.

See, now THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT. That's advice that you can sink your teeth into. Nice one D.

Anyone that chooses to argue the point of 'which Bible' is the 'truth' should certainly do a little 'homework' before beginning the argument. It is obvious after a 'minor' amount of research, that the KJV is as close as it gets.

Sometimes we just have to face facts. Some of those facts are that there are those who have an intense hatred for the King James bible and the Textus Receptus from which it was translated. Westcott and Hort were such two individuals. In addition you have Jesuits who have over time, infiltrated the Christian Bible Colleges and Theological Seminaries as well as many pulpits in this country who were hell bent on promoting these modern version...more specifically the NIV and the NASB...anything but the King James bible. They extoll the virtures of how "scholars" have "corrected" the Textus Receptus" and have made it more reliable and readable so the everyday man can understand God's word. I find that funny in that there are countless millions who had less than a 6th grade education who could not only read the King James, but understood i many years before the advent of the current versions. They didn't need a bishop or priest to tell them what God's word said. I wonder how many revivals there were between 400AD-1400 in Europe? How many souls were saved during this turbulent time?

Yes, I must confess...I am a KJVO as I've been called and that's alright. I have good reason to be. You don't spend two years studying textual criticism and not learn the truth when you have an open mind and heart and only want the truth. The truth is, these modern satanic masterpieces are NOT the word of God but of man's ideas as to what they think God wanted to say. There's only three choices. Either the King James is wrong, the modern versions are wrong, or both are a waste of time and are corrupt. In light of the evidence and the belief that God keeps His word about preserving forever his word, I know that the King James is God's word to us in English....I trust my soul with it.

I'll give a hearty amen to this! :-D

I'll go a step further - I believe the King James Bible to be the inspired word of God. Yes, the one you can get at Walmart for $5.95. :o

God bless
