I was born and raised in the deep South and have already given my answer. As for "Are you suggesting Texas is not in the South?" This is totally off topic but when I went to college in Texas, I was amazed to hear a Texan adamently argue that Texas was part of the South. I had never heard such in my life! I had been brought up to believe
Texas was part of the West. I thought of cowboys when I thought of Texas. Now I think of it more Southwest, but definitely not South. I now live in Asia but I had a much larger cultural shock moving to Texas than I did moving to Asia. Texas is not the South, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Texas! It is a great place for anyone to live just like the South is.
