I happened to be clearing out some old boxes in the upstairs storage bin, and I ran across that old green padded hardcover edition of the Living Bible, which I haven't seen for years. I took it downstairs with me, and began to read it. All the old excitement of reading the Bible came back to me as I again pored over the pages of this paraphrased Bible. How enjoyable and exciting it was!

LOL
I had a similar expieriance this week....Only I am using the NIV paraphraze....
a few friends on mine have made a commitment to read the NT in 30 days...No study, just read and enjoy it for what it is and I was going to use the NLT until I stumbled into my old NIV.... :-)

There were some shaky moments of not understanding in the latter chapters of Genesis with the KJV, but I'm forging ahead.

I never made it out of Exodus in the KJV. The syntax is appalling. Went very gratefully back to the modern versions.
