BOISE STATE DESERVES A BCS SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!

I shouted yes, and I meant every cap shout that I yelled!

It is insane that the BCS Nazis keep shutting the Broncos out. I know what it is, they are CHICKEN with a capital C!

The big cop-out about why Boise State, whose record is 44-4 in four years and even 4-1 against big-time opponents, not to mention the sweetheart winner of the '07 Fiesta Bowl, is that Boise State is in a soft league, the WAC. Granted, we know that. Which is why our athletic director has offered that BSU will take on any school, anywhere for a televised game on ESPN and the school doesn't even have to agree to a return game in Boise.

Can you hear all those crickets chirping out there?

Yep, chicken. C-H-I-C-K-E-N. They saw what Boise did to the Ducks, who btw are going to be in the Rose Bowl, this after being trounced by BSU 19-8, and so no one, not one of the so-called "big conference" teams are taking up the Broncos offer.

Boise has already shown that they have the athletic prowess, and the star power and the fans to make a great BCS game. But, noooooo, the big chickens are going to work at shutting out Boise, probably because they don't want to lose out on the big bucks of being in the BCS bowls, even if they have a less than stellar record.

Fine, then. Be that way. Hide under the desk when Bleymaier comes a-knockin'. We'll just earn our respect the old fashioned way...by beating the pants off of everyone we play!

:rollingpin :couch

:lol No, you'd have a lot of fun tailgating with me! We'd eat lots of really yummy sandwiches and then sneak around and slap Bronco Bumper Stickers on the opposing teams fan's car bumpers!

Plus, you have to wear this:

I heard BSU tried to buy their way into the BCS... with potatoes! :toofunny :toofunny

I'm a bit of a Florida/Florida St. fan and I'm sure they'd agree to play "your" team. Either Florida team usually has no problem getting to the BCS on a semi-regular basis. :lol

Hey, they were "Yukon Gold" potatoes!!!! As for Florida/Florida St., well then, why haven't they, hmmmm? The offer is there, the Broncos will travel to any school, so why isn't anyone down there in the Sunshine State taking them up on the offer? :chicken

Hey, where's Dora? She abandoned her thread. :confused

Oh, I get it, it was a drive-by... :lol

Nah, I just had to get the last of the wind-damage stuff put all back together, clean out the fridge, cook up the pumpkin for pies and get everything ready for our big Thanksgiving Day today. Mom came and is staying with us until Sunday. She'll go to our new church with us and then we'll take her home. Steve's folks came as well and we had a great day. I hope you all had as blessed a day as I did.

I think that BSU and TCU would be a great game. In fact, with the 1 point loss to TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl last year, it would have the added attraction of starting a great rivalry, a better one than BSU against the Idaho Vandals, whose pants we kick every time we play them. The problem is, if the Bowl didn't garner some really great ratings, the BCS snobs would use that as a reason not to have non-BCS teams in the championships. Teams like BSU and TCU have to get better ratings, play better football and have better fans than the BCS teams. It's unfair, but it is the way it is. Not that Boise State hasn't already met that challenge, but even after the '07 Fiesta Bowl in which Boise played really great football, and brought in both the fans and the ratings, they still are being snubbed. :mad

Added to all this our best receiver Austin Pettis now has a broken ankle. Now, Boise State has shown, repeatedly, that they do not rely upon one or two "stars" in order to win games, but it all goes back to what I said before: Boise needs to do more than just win games, they have to have each and every game be a big blowout because they are in a soft league.

All in all it is looking really good for Boise to be in the Fiesta Bowl this year, possibly against Iowa or Penn State, both of which would be a great game and one that Boise has a very good shot at winning.

Has anyone else even watched Boise State football? When you get right down to it, they are just a fun team to watch. You never know what they are going to pull out of the hat and they can play every play in the book. It's exciting!

I've never actually watched BSU play, but I pay attention to what happens with them. I'm a University of Utah fan, the original and first repeated BCS buster. But it looks like BSU is going to join the repeated BCS buster club this year, so congratulations to them! In addition, congratulations to TCU for getting to a BCS bowl game for the first time.

In all reality, TCU should be in the National Championship game this year. I would place my bet as them being THE best college football team in the nation this year. I believe they could tear apart any of the other top teams: Florida, Alabama, Texas, and BSU. Anywho, not much we can do as long as the BCS system is in place, other than keep producing teams outside of the automatic qualifiers to crash their system and prove it unfair and a farce.

I agree with you up to a point. That point being the assertion that TCU could tear apart BSU. :naughty

Other than that you have written an excellent post.

GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!!Texas needs to win tonight or else Nebraska bumps Boise out of the running. GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!!GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!!GO TEXAS!!! GO TEXAS!!!

:mad ARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! Is Texas EVER going to show up for this game. Longhorns are supposed to EAT corn husks. :angry

:clap3 :clap3 :clap Whew, what a game!!!!! Texas won this by the skin of their teeth. That was a great last few minutes of football.

Now we'll see if the BCS will come through and send Boise to the Fiesta Bowl or some other bowl game.

:nono What a cop out. Matching BSU with TCU is simply another way for the BCS to shut out non-BCS teams. TCU and Boise have played some great college football and deserved a chance to play against bigger teams.

Coach Pete and TCU's Patterson are taking the high road (of course) and make no mistake, the game promises to be some really great football.

Anyway, the Fiesta Bowl will be an exciting game and I'm glad we're there, but nonetheless, BCS is copping out.

Again.
