Bible Study CALLING ALL BIBLE STUDY ENTHUSIASTS! Come and join us for an indepth study of the Book of Deut.

the song of moses, the entire chapter of deutermony is as as song, which for the most is rehash of the torah. I told a few jews and Christians that visions of John of jesus were in fact the torah, when it was given at horeb. I aslo said that jesus is the torah in the flesh as the Holy Ghost said that. the torah is from the very heart of god. its his nature.

I like that very much. The very nature of a loving Father.

the jews say and I say that the torah was about love from the beginning.also much of what I said is in jewish thought.

That is the way I see Torah and Jesus expressed it in two commandments.
Short form....Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.
Why? Because He loved us first.

Very good Reba! I hadn't put Jesus into as many Scriptures as you did. That's what I like about these studies, I learn good applications that I hadn't thought of. :woot2

:amen I only wish more people realized that.

Chapter 33 This is Moses final words to the Tribes of Israel.

V.2 Is an interesting picture of Jehovah leaving His dwelling place with the Holy Angels to communicate His Covenant's to the people He loves. Some say that the reference to fire is that which led Israel at night when they escaped from Egypt.

Each Tribe received blessings. Rather strange to my way of thinking, reminded me of Revelation. :chin

Chapter 34 OUR LAST CHAPTER IN DEUTERONOMY

Moses, the great Prophet and "Servant of Jehovah", a title of great significance, died on Mount Nebo to the top of Pisgah where God showed him the Promised Land.

In Numbers 20:8-13 we have the account of Moses disobeying Jehovah because he was told "speak ye unto the Rock". Instead, he "smote the Rock twice". There is a lesson in this event. Apparently in self exultant fury, Moses broke faith with the Lord. That act was so serious in our Lord's mind, in my mind, it doesn't seem so bad that he couldn't be forgiven....His ways are not my ways.

Only Jesus would be the Prophet greater than Moses!

NOTE: Tomorrow we begin our study in Genesis. We will go slower this time because of the suggestions of some of you folk....If there is a particular subject of interest that someone would like to discuss, we can stay on that particular Text and finish the next day or longer if necessary. The only way I know how to coordinate this is for me to suggest each portion of Scripture on each day. If anyone can think of a better way, lets hear it.

Tomorrow: Day 1 Genesis 1:1-5 First day of creation.

Yay. I look forward to Genesis. :cool2. This is where i need to start and learn from. :biggrin2

I need to start over, everything i have read has been scattered. I have no root base to work off. I think this is really going to help me out because i cannot understand it on my own.

OK my Bible study friend. Genesis is the foundation that helps us gain knowledge in the rest of Scripture. We are looking forward to a great study led be the Holy Spirit Himself.

ok alrighty then. the lights and darkness thing will be good place to start.

I'm wondering Jason, if you have any information on Jewish thought of a gap theory?

in general the Zohar is where they find that and that teaches the idea of Lilith. I refuse to use that idea. ramban doesn't get into that nor serpent seed or the nephilum.

Hello everyone who loves to study God's Word. We continue with the book of Genesis, the foundation of our faith in the God who created all things. This Bible study will be a little different than Deuteronomy in which we went chapter by chapter. In Geneses, we will progress much slower. There will be subjects that we will want to discuss more in depth, so we could spend more than one day on a portion of study.

At the end of each day, I will indicate what the Chapter and Verses will be for the next day's study.
