Bible Study CALLING ALL BIBLE STUDY ENTHUSIASTS! Come and join us for an indepth study of the Book of Deut.

Chapter 31 Moses gives his last instructions and commands to Israel before his death and their crossing over into the Promised Land. Moses promises that Jehovah their Elohim will not forsake them and not to fear those who occupy the land that they are entering.

The Lord tells Moses that He knows Israel will forsake Him in favor of the gods that their enemies worship....what a strange people to forsake their BIG GOD for a little god.

V.20 reveals a sad truth not only that Israel was guilty of but us as well, when life is good, men pay little attention to Jehovah our Elohim who loves us so much.

V. 29 reveals how and why men forsake God, "through the work of your hands".

NOTE: I'm up for another study in the Old Testament. I am suggesting that we study Genesis chapter by chapter. I chose Genesis because it's the foundation and beginning of all things.

Does anyone have a different Book of the Bible to study?

Deut 30:4, 5
Deu 30:4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:
Deu 30:5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

Jos 21:43 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
Jos 21:44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
Jos 21:45 There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

Yes and He promised a tiny patch smaller than 25,000 square km to Israel I don't think we should begrudge that.
I don't begrudge it, I claim it is so but the futurist say all Hebrews saved now wont be there. go figure, we do the right thing and we are denied what was ours. I don't buy that.

Chapter 31
Deu 31:29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
Gen 49:1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.

IMO Genesis would invite a lot of comments, an exciting look at the beginnings of what we have already studied in Isaiah, and Deuteronomy. I think that we will have answers to things we have wondered about. So unless there are objections, we will go to Genesis next.:dancing

The Israelites would always stumble when they lost their leader. I think this helps us understand the significance of Jesus always being alive to lead and represent the nation of God's people.

Genesis sounds good to me. I might not be able to join in right away, since I'm going on vacation starting on Wednesday. I'll try to get to a computer to read though.

yall go to fast. you get more if we slow down. genesis one has a lot of depth. so does the chapter in genesis, where it starts at the end of two years.

I agree with you Jason there is more depth, but if we discussed all of it it would take months to get through one book. :) Each one of us and those just reading can do their own study and they can always start a thread on a verse/s that they would like to discuss further. Frankly I'm surprised this hasn't happened more often, as things are brought out that are not commonly studied or preached in the church setting.:shrug

you all have finished this in depth book, I haven't even hit deut 5, some of its due to my tendency to hit and miss reading the word, other times it how fast you all go.

Hey everyone. Jayson and others have suggested a different way to study Genesis instead of Chapter by Chapter. Unfortunately, that's the only way I know how to do it. Can anyone come up with another method?

word study. barah being a good one. or mikeitz, I can get the later easily but its from A jewish site and its 1.5 HOUR long radio broadcast but the rabbi had a lot to see about that land Egypt which he tied in to 'merica. the vision in that chapter is deep. I haven't heard any pastor do that.

We can do it chapter by chapter, but we don't have to do one chapter a day. If people find somthing interesting, we could spend a few days on one chapter.

Yup to all your ideas. Chapter a day is too fast.... Hurrying through is not good unless we are only going for the 'natural history" as apposed to the spiritual history/future.... I would like to think we are grown up enough to play it by ear... :)

jasonc i hope you join in i really need some one to keep me from going off topic....:rofl2
