Hi,

They say the soul is eternal, but can God disassemble or terminate the soul is the soul requests for this ?
What if the soul gets bored in heaven ?
What if the soul in hell that has suffered in hell for 1 million years, can't this soul asks for disassembly and termination ?
If God doesn't allow dissassembly of the soul, why not ? I mean why force a soul to keep existing if the soul doesn't want to ?

Will we ever know answer to these questions ? Maybe not on earthly life but when we are in heaven maybe, for our knowledge is partial now like Paul said.

Br,

Br,
The word “mortal” means “subject to death”.
When we say “man is mortal” it means man is subject to death and will eventually die. One way or the other he dies.

If we say man has an “immortal soul”, it means man’s soul is not subject to death and will never die.
If the man himself is that immortal soul, the business of trying to save him is absurd.

If a soul is immortal and never dies, what are you trying to save him from? Death?

A soul in hell for eternity ain't fun at all is it ? That's what the gospel is trying to save souls from, from hell.
Down here we have checkers and mahjong to pass the time.

They said Christs death was to save us from death. But since no one ever dies, Christ never died.

I think they made it all up.

Definition of death is not only physically death as we know, which is seperation of soul from the body. Spiritual death is seperation of the soul from God, which means soul is in hell. The soul in heaven are with God, so not seperated from God.

Br,
Greetings. The two common thoughts of which I am aware in the churches, are "yes":

And do not be afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
Matthew 10:28

and "no":

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Matthew 25:41

I was quite interested, just now, to find nothing at all in Holy Scripture which speaks of an "immortal soul". Rather, I found multiple verses in which it is written that we become immortal. In the below, for one example of many, Paul teaches that he was not immortal until, in Christ, he "puts on" immortality, the eternity of Christ the Lord:

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
I Corinthians 15:53

One could easily suggest, that the theory of the "immortal soul" is one of the several artifacts of ungodly Roman and Greek teaching, which the Roman church kept.
