if you are saved and fall into that your spirit man will die eventually as you must ignore what the word of god says, i did that until a friend confronted me in love, handy said:The bible does indeed teach that engaging in sex with persons of the same sex is sin, just as it is sinful for an unmarried person to engage in sex with someone. So, the question really becomes,
Can a person willfully and repeatedly continue on in a sinful activity and be saved?
I think this question can be answered no matter which side of the OSAS debate one is on.
If one believes that a truly saved person can never lose salvation, and yet is continuing on in something that is willful sin, then I would say that the person truly needs to examine their faith, their belief and their confession of sin and repentance.

In either case, no matter if one believes in OSAS or in losing one's salvation, and whether or not the sin happens to be homosexual sex or something else, if one is willfully and repeatedly engaging in sin, one has a problem that needs to be addressed.
yes, that's possible but i don't see that with the homosexual lifestyle, sooner or later you will grow very far from god, it's because of the reprobate spirit and you have to reject the word of god on that subject,vs just ignoring what the word says. That's different from the reprobate spirit as it's according romans 1, imho it's forgivable and it really takes an act of god to change, i wish i could talk to a former gay friend of mine who aslo struggled with that, but never did the deeds, he just fought against the desires.NooneSpecial said:The apostles had sin in their lives....and nothing changed their being of God. No doubt, God desires all of His children to turn away from sin and follow him in faith, leaving their sinful ways behind. Do not think though that any of us who fall or have a present sin in our lives are any less saved. A person can be wishing to repent of a sin and struggling with it, yes?

I agree with this. I find it hard to talk to people about this subject. Of course the stereotypical gay lifestyle is against the teaching of Christianity. Random sex with strangers of either orientation is against the teachings of sexual morality and lust.shad said:jasoncran said:yes, that's possible but i don't see that with the homosexual lifestyle, sooner or later you will grow very far from god, it's because of the reprobate spirit and you have to reject the word of god on that subject,vs just ignoring what the word says. If homosexual is just fighting against the desire, it is not sin. Acting out make it sin. We all have to struggle with some kind of weaknesses because of our sinful nature, homosexual or not. Many heterosexual are fighting against masterbation.

jasoncran said:the person i mentioned was delivered from the spirit of homosexuality ,yes i said spirit, because he did tell me that he would eventually give in that desire if God didn't take it from , and he was delivered not much later then our conversation, upon my repentance I didn't go through that all desire was taken instantaineously and by the power of jesus, it's jesus only that can and defeat this spirit. From time to time satan will try to attack there and i will rebuke him in the power of lord.

Things that aren't though. A person can still love another person of the same sex, and be with them. Sex isn't an entire point of a relationship. You can be celibate, its just finding a partner that is willing to be celibate as well.
jenkayben said:So what is the difference in a (supposedly saved) homosexual unable to overcome his/her immoral sexual desires and a christian who is a smoker and unable to overcome their nicotine addiction? They are both sinning, agreed? Does God see a smoker as less of a sinner than a homosexual? I feel like we, as christians, condemn certain people because we feel their sin is unpardonable or because of their sin they are rejecting God when they might just be having difficulties overcoming their sin, yet have still given their life to Christ.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is hard to overcome our weakness, I have tons of them and cannot say that I am doing well overcoming them. We have to keep trying until we die.
