Can't. The adversarial system is inherently uneven. Joe average has been priced out of it.

Police are part of the Executive branch, which is held in check by the Judicial branch. At least in theory.

While it is rare, the Legislative branch does occasionally intervene, such as when IN passed law to the effect that cops busting in illegally can get shot by the homeowner just like anybody else. That is extreme.

invasion-of-privacy allegedly took a semi nude picture of a woman he had a affair with while blindfolded and tied up... she said she thought she heard teh click of a phone camera. say the Gov told her he took the picture and she said anything about the affair . he would show it... they took his phone his cloud account searched it found nothing.. then the defense team called the p.a for a witness . they dropped the charges to refile later . got to love our court system
