Can someone HONESTLY sing, "He's all I need"?

.

I believe that when we come to realize that we can't even breath without God allowing it to be, then we will without any doubt know that God IS all we need and that we cannot do anything without his allowing it to happen. He offers His grace to us, we don't have to take it, but if we didn't would we have a Holy means to overcome the evils that God allows to exist in this world? God knows that if we were to only rely on doubt, He knows where would we be? Dwelling in the house, the place of despair, that's where. God knows that if He didn't offer His mercy to the sinner, He knows that IF we didn't take Him on that offering and accept His mercy to do a work in us, then were would we be? We would be in the house of, that place of oppression of that which does not show any mercy. And that place is the place that the evil spirit of Satan shows up and resides. I know that IF I don't take any of the Attributes of God that He comes to offer to me, that I would not be in His presence living in His Good and Holy Will, His mind-set, but that I would be living in the presence of the Un-godly things that are of Satan's mind-set, Satan's attributes, Satan's deterring forces. It is our choice on what to concentrate our minds set upon.... The things of God or the things that drag us down to despair. God wants us to GIVE SACRIFICES for our good. When we Give sacrifices of Praise.... we take on the spirit of praise and THAT is a much better deterrent than to reflect upon the despair that Satan comes to try and gain entry way into our thoughts to overcome us with the things Satan wants us to dwell on. God's Attributes and Character is the ONLY THING WE NEED. When Satan comes to steal kill and destroy our focus to lead us into his kingdom of despair, of sin and of temptation to do the sins that only destroy our well-being... then THAT is WHEN WE NEED TO RUN TO GOD and GIVE SACRIFICES OF PRAISE, THANKSGIVING. To FORCE our mind upon the things God gives to us on a daily basis, even if it seems to us to be meager.... We must GIVE A SACRIFICE OF THANKS for all the things in our life that allow us to even breath, to blink, to live, to eat food, to resist the things of the devil.... WE RUN TO GOD. And think of the things that love, the protection, the banner that we have in His Name to live by. WE are of God, Our Savior, Holy Spirit of God. You must rebuke the things of the devil that come to deter you from off of Godly things. Please.... Do not demean God by thinking you are self-sufficient in anything. I know there are days that I can't even get into the shower without asking God to get me there to wash up! Don't let despair rule you. Have you studies the Attributes of God? Have you studies the character of His Holy Spirit in that He wants you to know that His love, His protection is what provides every breath you take, every single movement your body is able to do. Even if the devil has damaged parts of you... know that God will restore what the devil tries to take away. IF you don't see immediate results, then you must not give up hope.... KNOW That GOD IS WORKING ALL THINGS to the good for those who are called according to His purpose. WE never give up Hope to be replaced by despair. When the devil comes to try and steal God from out of your sight, then You need to rebuke Him (as did Jesus) and RUN TO THE FATHER and take on the attributes and character He WILLS for you in your life. We fight not against flesh... but against spirits and principalities. Never uplift your abilities as if they are independent of God's giving you your every single breath and freedom of choice to what you want to place your mind upon.... The things of God or the other way.... The road you take is up to you.... Satan tried to lift himself up above and tried to be independent of God, thinking he didn’t need any reliance on God for anything, but could do things on his own.... Look what it got him! The things opposite of God.
Focus, Focus on the things of God and force (GIVE SACRIFICE) praise and thanksgiving TO GOD... for ALL things, every thing in your life. Don't think about what you don't have... If you see a sin, then make correction and get back to the arms of God. The only way to be in His arms is to set your mind upon all things positive that He has sanctified as being Holy,. For HIS sake, for your sake, for your Salvation FROM sin. That is being In the presence of God. Appreciation for all that He gives to you in life IS being in His presence. You don't need any super duper knock down experience to dwell in the things of God. God IS Spirit.... things spiritual are. Did you know that "thanks" is a spiritual experience? Did you know that "praise" is a spiritual experience? Did you know that "despair" is a spiritual experience also, but the thing is, that despair is not the type of spiritual experience the Good Lord wants you to stay stuck in. He shows you the way out of all that Satan comes to try and take away from you and plant into your mind to dwell on for far too long, when God's attributes are what you should be looking at, God is the one who you must look to to get you out of despair! Yes, even doubt, and reflecting on what was lost over and over and over again... That is what Satan wants you to experience, those things are spirit. And you must learn that The Spiritual things of God are those things God wants you to focus upon... Get out of that rut by Sacrifices of Praise and Thanksgiving.... Now God brush your teeth and thank God that you even have teeth to brush! And if you don't have teeth, then thank God that you are still able to breath! There are people in this world who are suffering with cancer. And you know what.... Many of them know that God is all they need to overcome that horrible disease! That without God, there is no hope, only despair. They know that despair is not going to heal them, they know that only by Giving themselves over to HOPE and Thanksgiving for the work God is doing in them through them that they are a work in progress for His purpose. Paul even knew that while he was imprisoned that by dwelling on his misery, that it would not be the key to overcoming the problems he was facing. He knew that by only relying on the Praise and Thanksgiving that that Sacrifice was the key to restoration. Hope is not anything but a gift from God. If you deny holding onto it you are slapping God in the face and saying NO, I will not take what you offer to me, because I don't "feel" it. You must NOT DO THAT. You must take it, claim it as yours even if you don't "feel" it. No one see the seed that is planted in the ground take to root. YOU too must take the seeds God gives to you and have faith that they are taking root and will sprout through the ground to see the light and grow to fruition IN GOD'S OWN TIMING. Take Hope and HOLD FAST! There are days that I have such a struggle holding onto what God is offering me.... But I never give up the fight to reach for and grab onto what he is offering to me... everything good. Yes, God IS ALL I NEED. I can't do anything without His offerings to me. I can't even get out of this chair I'm sitting in without His grace given to me to life me out of it... it's all done by faith. By faith I can get up out of this chair... Without Godly faith ( a gift from God) I can't even get up. The devil will give you the wrong type of faith! it is a faith in the things that bring on despair and those things lacking in the f character of God's Holy Will. Don't underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit of God. His gifts to you and His love in giving you every single thought to choose from. Choose the thoughts God wants you to hold onto. Choice is freely given to all. Yes even to Satan, but he chose to not dwell in the house, the things of God. WE still have choice... What things do you want of God? It's not always a feeling. Feelings are manifest after the thought. Appreciation manifest a certain feeling. Thanks manifest a certain feeling. Praise manifest a certain feeling.... Those things.... that are of God manifest his presence.... GOD IS THERE right there in front of you! God IS all you need. God IS all I need. God counted ever single hair on your head... He knows everything about you, He IS all you need. We are a work in progress. Don't let discouragement and disappointment take up too much of your time. Our time is precious... We need to Keep the things of God in our hearts and mind... We are renewed by the transforming of the mind.... Focus on taking claim to the things of God, not on whether you "feel" God. God IS . By faith you do... not by feelings. Now by faith.... what are you doing? reading... without faith you couldn't even read this.... And Thank God for that ability. God is In the Thanks you give for every thing. God IS all you need.

Now you need to take the blessing and hold it even if you don't "feel" the results of it yet. Have Faith, Know that the root is being developed.

God Bless.

I think this the following article has some relevance here in that, the way one "thinks" about oneself has much to do with How they fit into the divine scheme of things.

    He Deceives Himself (Gal 6.3)

“For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.†(Galatians 6.3).

Thinking is a human capability that is both marvelous and fearsome at the same time. While the ability to think is a wonderful gift it is also implies awesome responsibilities. For that reason, civilized societies establish laws and guidelines of human behavior and then hold their citizens accountable to those laws. When these laws are broken, almost all court systems and judicial venues take into account the intent of the one guilty of breaking the law as well as the capacity of that person to reason clearly. This is the “two-edged sword†of thinking. Perhaps this is the reason James wrote the following: “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.†(James 3.1).

Consider the term correct thinking. That is really the subject of today’s focus verse. Granted the scope of the verse is somewhat narrow (i.e. how we think about ourselves), but it is nonetheless vital. In fact, I would suggest that unless one has the ability and discipline to think correctly about oneself, the rest is somewhat inconsequential. Regarding the term correct thinking, it suggests that there is such a thing as incorrect thinking. The warning of Galatians 6.3 clearly defines one of the results of incorrect thinking (i.e. self-deception). Furthermore, the Bible also speaks of the eternal penalties of self-deception as we will see in the close of today’s devotional message.

The knowledge of who we are as a class of creatures is important; in fact, just knowing that we are creatures (created beings) is essential. But, further how we fit into the Divine scheme of things is the first step to correct thinking. The Psalmist addressed this point vividly and pointedly when he wrote, “What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxenâ€â€Even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!†(Psalm 8.4-9).

The relationship of God to man and vise versa is the origin point of sobriety (sobriety and correct thinking being used synonymously here). In a verse very similar to today’s text, Paul warned, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.†(Romans 12.3). The fact that a person can think too highly of one’s self implies a standard against which our thinking is to be judged. If there were no objective standard of thought, then who would have the right to say that his/her thought processes were any better than any one else’s? Yet, the Scriptures clearly affirm that there is right thinking and there is wrong thinking. And, that is not just my opinion; it is a fact taken from the word of God.

My challenge (in fact the challenge of each accountable person) is to insure that I think in a manner that God approves. He wants this because my eternal destiny depends upon the conclusions I reach regarding Him and the sacrifice of His Only begotten Son! If I accept that offering and live faithfully to that profession, heaven will be my eternal reward. If I refuse that offering, I deceive myself and at the same time seal my eternal fate. “O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!â€Â

    Questions:

    1. How damaging is self-deceit? How easy is it to be self-deceived? How can we avoid self-deceit?

    2. Has God provided a “standard of thought†against which we will be judged? If yes, what is it?

    3. After reading the 8th Psalm, jot down some of the improper thoughts that men have about themselves and their place in the universe. Also make a list of the blessings that are ours because of the position that is ours as the crowning glory of God’s creative work.

    4. What, if anything, does the last sentence of Psalm 8 have to do with right thinking?

And yet, another article that I think is revelant here in that it depicts how Praise is a tool that silences the enemies of God.

    Praise

Do you know the promises of God that are written in His Word? Seek them out. What has God promised you, personally? Ask Holy Spirit to "bring them to your remembrance". Do you have secret desires hidden in your heart? Talk to Abba-Father; let him know how grateful you are; praise Him for Who He is! Give thanks for His blessings, those you have had, have now, and those to come! Notice this Word: "From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger." -Psalm 8:2

What a powerful statement that is! The very reason God "ORDAINED PRAISE"...the sound of Praise actually will "silence" the enemies of God! WOW! Throughout the Old Testament and the New, His Word continually remind us of the Power Of Praise. Sometimes to the point that we can begin to take it for granted, especially in 'Word' congregations. 'Praise' can be the highest form of prayer when we press-in and actually fellowship with God, our Abba-Father! Familiar scripture teaches us that "He inhabits (our) praises", "in His presence is fullness of joy" and the "JOY of the LORD is our strength."

Let's look at a passage in Romans about how faith and praise made Abraham strong."No unbelief {or} distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong {and} was empowered by faith as he gave praise {and} glory to God,...."(Ro.4:20-AMP) Abraham wasn't even a born-again man, but his faith was "accounted unto him as righteousness" That considered, we, as born-again beings, born into the family of God-His children-joint-heirs with Jesus who is the first born Son of God among many...shall I go on or do you get my point, yet?

I challenge us to use this 'weapon'-the weapon of praise- TODAY! EVERYDAY! Even if you don't feel like your in a battle, do it just to scare off the enemy! We know he is out there seeking to 'kill, steal and destroy'. So, why not take the OFFENSE? So not to be made to get on the DEFENSE later? Glorify Him and strengthen yourself by spending time with Him NOW! Adjust & Enjoy! -agreenwalt

Again, "Thanks Anita!" Next week I will get to return to my writing!

    Meet the Author:

Lisa Mendenhall lives in Smackover, Arkansas with her husband of over 28 years, Chris. She has 4 grown children who also love the Lord, each serving Him in some capacity. As a teacher of the Word, Lisa, believes that she has a responsibility to use her God-given gift to teach those who have a desire to live victorious in Christ how to do so. She believes in order to live victoriously, one must get to know God and His character. His character is love. Therefore, Lisa has a heart-desire to bring people to a greater understanding of God’s love. Her teachings explain that when His love is activated IN His children, it will motivate them to give just as His love motivated Him to give ‘His only begotten Son', Jesus, to the world. God’s wisdom does not always flow with the world's system of wisdom and His Word says, ‘my people perish for lack of knowledge’. Lisa states, “During meditation one day, I heard the word ‘winnows’. With great curiosity, I learned it to mean,

‘ To separate the chaff from (grain) by means of a current of air. To rid of undesirable parts. To separate or get rid of (an undesirable part); eliminate: winnowing out the errors in logic. …separate grain from chaff…separate the good from the bad…examine closely in order to separate the good from the bad; sift…’ (www.dictionary.com)
“This study gave me direction and focus for my teaching. God had placed a longing in my heart to teach the body of Christ how to separate from carnal thinking and rid themselves of old ways that hinder their Spiritual growth. I desire to see them live victoriously, by the 'higher ways’ of God’s wisdom.â€Â

God Bless.

I've never understood the statement "God gives us our breath". Does God REALLY spend time in Heaven keeping the synapses, that are responsible for our functioning respiratory system, charged and running? I believe this to be a completely automatic part of OUR OWN body, . . . .not something that God keeps going. :gah

I appreciate the length of your post, but I've heard it all before (I say this with the utmost repsect, Relic). If God WAS all you actually NEEDED, . . . then everything would be provided for you completely BY God, . . . . meaning, you could sit in your cave and have food brought to you by animals, so you can spend all your time in worship to God. This doesn't happen, thus why YOU have to get a job and work accordingly to keep it. God doesn't satisfy the human need for sleep. You have a NEED to sleep everyday. You have a NEED for companionship, and God agrees, setting it up as such, realizing that HE actually ISN'T "all Adam needed". Adam needed a helper.

I may not be as religiously motivated, so I tend to think on the logical side, . . . thus my stance on this subject.
