Is the RCC really...wrong? They seem to do a lot of good in this world. I dig Dorothy Day (she's a saint now, I think...).
Protestants are so divided and divisive. Calvinism, Arminianism, modified Calvinism, Pentecostals, etc. etc. etc. I'm not saying that I need to be told what to believe, but...I dunno...I find myself agreeing with a lot of what Pope Francis is saying these days.
I don't know too much about the RCC. Saints?!? I kinda get it. They're dead, but not really, because they're in Heaven and can hear us and help us. OK...got it. Purgatory? I don't see how its Biblical. The Catholics have more books in their Bible...is it somewhere in there?
But, in all seriousness...The RCC seems to have a solid message, an established theology, a lot of things going for it. I'm now into the whole "Christian worldview" thing, and in the RCC, I see...well, I see a faith that provides solid guidance and instruction for all aspects of one's life here on earth.
Having said that...I didn't get saved until I went to a Pentecostal rehab program. The Pentecostals have been very, very kind to me...and the more old school Pentecostals are staunchly anti-Catholic. What's up with that?
Any Catholics floating around the forum who wanna fill me in on why they think the RCC is correct? I'm beginning to think that nearly 2,000 years of tradition can't be wrong...but I could be mistaken...
Thanks.
