I am sorry that your wife is experiencing extreme pain.
There are many different pain relief drugs that can be combined and used to treat extreme levels of pain. it is not a case that there is only one method of pain relief.

It wasnt her first option,but after years.you cant drive on oxycontin, muscle relaxers.

Far,worse things they do heroin,yes a vet described dog opioids said its the same family as heroine with the same level of addiction possibilities.

Pot isn't a cure all .not a claim .she had to wait 5 months. Imagine given the much higher rates of teen abuse with oxy,zoloft,etv if we mandated 5 months to get any relief,yet phht pot ?

I have never smoked cannabis, marijuana or any other narcotic, therefore my experience of the effects of cannabis is non-existent. I do understand that many people who suffer severe pain have benefited from having cannabis prescribed; this can be only a good thing if circumstances permit.
The UK government has had petitions handed in calling for cannabis to be supplied to those who suffer unbearable pain, however up to now, there has been no real movement.
If the government does decide to make medical cannabis legal, I think the industry would need to be very tightly regulated to prevent abuse.

Due to a back injury my wife literally lives on pain medication. A sister-in-law of ours passed away a couple years ago from cancer. She was from California where medicinal marijuana is legal and she had a little bit left over when she died. My wife's brother gave it to my wife to try out. I don't know but I believe it was in a pill form?? My wife said that when she used it, she was able to all but stop taking her other pain meds.

Here in MN medicinal marijuana is also legal but unfortunately, my wife's injuries were a worker's comp claim and worker's comp does not accept it as a viable treatment so they will not approve it for use. With all the various medications my wife has had to use over the past eight years she has had her share of complications ranging from anxiety to depression to insomnia and ulcers. With the exception of depression, none of these side effects are known to result from using medicinal marijuana.

This is my opinion, kratom , which is in the coffee family elevates pain, you don’t get high, it is non addictive and I have been using it for pain relief for years. Most states are trying to ban it. It helps opiate addictive with withdrawal symptoms and for myself having 5 back surgeries, reduces pain by roughly 60 percent. It has kept me off of opiates. I tried weed it didn’t work. It is legal in my state to grow, posses, buy yards yadda, but I don’t want to use it. My reason for the post is to tell those in pain that it MAY be a godsend for those in pain. Until Jesus completely takes my pain away of if my state bans it. It is what I use. ( disclaimer- the first time you use it you may get a euphoric feeling but that’s for the most part a one time thing) just thought I would mention it because it works for me, a former addict that doesn’t want any part of opiates.

Amazing how cannabis in USA is illegal and people get thrown in cage for it because it's so bad, but the government has a Patent on cannabinoids. Obviously it's only bad if the public have it, but not the Government who want to own the rights to cannabinoids.

It's just natural seed bearing plant, the plant doesn't force anyone to use it. Why is this one plant so evil to many?. Is that how deranged humans are that they actually blame a plant and call it the devil for just being itself in nature.

I know a little about both so should chime in. I was a recreational user of MJ most of my life, and tried to quit it two times because it is a young mans thing I think and I like being clear headed.

The first time I quit smoking MJ, I (had not had a seizure in 18 years and was off of the meds for it)...had a seizure 3 days later. 11 years later I figured it was prolly a fluke and tried to quit again, even being on anti-seizure meds this time....I had a seizure 4 days later, wrecked my truck and hurt my back..

They put me on pain meds (Oxycodone) and it did work for the pain but soon life was all about the next pill. I decided that no way am I taking those pills for the rest of my life so I quit them cold turkey and began drinking (even more!) coffee in the morning and smoking a little at night. This seems to work for me. My pain is pretty bad. But MJ is a great muscle relaxer and lets me get to sleep and also helps keep me from having more seizures. ...and the inversion table that my dad had is a blessing to me and helps me also.

Our sister-in-law passed away about three years ago from cancer and part of her treatment was medicinal marijuana (MMJ). After she passed, my wife's brother gave her what was left of her MMJ. While my wife was using it, she was able to discontinue or reduce the level of the pain meds she is on. I suspect that if she could continue using MMJ, she could be able to use less pain meds as well as the other meds she takes due to side effects.

MN does allow the use of MMJ but worker's comp. does not allow it so my wife is unable to get a prescription for MMJ as a result.

Only THC in cannabis gets you high. Most medicinal cannabis does not have THC or if it does, it is in very low doses.
My wife had shoulder surgery this December and she prefers the CBD cream topical over her prescription topical as it is more effective. She has arthritis in her hands that she uses CBD cream on as well.

Even though CBD is not covered by our insurance and it is expensive, i don't think twice at dropping $50 a month so my wife can feel better.

the US is supposedly a "Free market, capitalism" economy. banning the drugs lots of people wants obviously creates a black market. restricting a lot of drugs that the pill heads want obviously creates both a black market (buy it off the streets) and a 'gray market' (Dr.Feelgoods, the cash only docs who Rx the fun stuff like its the 70s), and...

the Rx system flies in the face of free market capitalism. it gives doctors and the rest of the medical establishment ever-increasing control over ever more aspects of our lives.

Those using CBD oil or whatever will likely test positive for marijuana use. So if your job drug tests don't get surprised. We had several guys who didn't use marijuana but did occasionally use CBD oil...they felt robbed and cheated.

How are people who won't pass a drug test suppose to get a job these days?

I mean i understand health and safety but no one should interfere with a deal between two private parties. Business are doing everything they can these days to cover themself because if someone hurts themself and was on something then as usual it's always someone else fault, you didn't drug test them so it's your fault.

Odd, ill have to check that out. Most drug tests only look for THC.

Yeah, those tiny amounts of THC in the oil or whatever will show up in a standard drug panel. Mostly because most people haven't shown up at a drug test stoned...so the test looks for very trace amounts... like what the CBD products contain and put into your system.
