by the time some of you respond, I may be already done with the injector cleaning I must do to cure(I hope) the cause of the cold nature idle issue.

gah, oh fun, backfired and blew off the vac lines. I couldn't hear if it had a leak. so after looking and one test drive. I found the problem. two large lines past the throttle plate were off. fixed that and that solved that problem.

That's great, Jason! That's the way it should be, getting the repairs done !

I feel glad that I was able to find the problem but monica is also feeling bothered as she said now that you have the time I know you will tinker and find the cause of that problem. I have told her I never meant to do that to her just that in order for me to tinker with the car I needed the time to find the problem and solve it.

Sometimes, getting a car to run properly takes a block of time that does need to be devoted to it. It's either that or pay the bill to have the car be worked on by a different mechanic.

which I told her. there are other issues that I will have to address. ie the oil light, I know that at idle the engine has oil pressure as if it didn't I would hear lifter noise at idle which I don't. so I must see if the sensor is bad.(switch)

One thing leads to another sometimes with vehicles. At least you're making progress with the car. And that's a good thing!

that sensor may be the cause of the oil leak it has. I will have to find a lift to clean up the oil on the block. the switch is where I thought it was. I may just replace it. I don't remember if I have a pressure guage.

Are you friends with an owner of a repair shop or a tire replacement shop?

I am but I can also drive the car to pafb and rent a bay for the day. I used to do that years ago

well the radiator which I thought was good is clogged. why cant this car just let it be?

How old is it? Keeping an older car running can be like playing Whac-A-Mole
15 years. its a gift, a deal I made with monica. my wife cant drive my Nissan. its hard on her to drive a manual. at present I cant just buy a car new or used. if its too old, I will have the same problem.

The car may be old, and it may be presenting quite the challenge right, but eventually, everything will have been replaced or will continue to work fine, so the car will make a dependable ride.

I should have just replace the radiator, I had the hunch it was bad too, but didn't want to spend money on that hunch. the fact that its running at 212 degrees with the tstat fully open and the fans on and they weren't blowing hot air was the hint that I should have replaced that radiator. its a radiator that is removed from underneath the car. yay.

Oh, joy of joys.

Do you think it might be easier to buy a couple of squirrels to run in a wheel to power the car???
