Bible Study Children of Seth?

I believe angels were also created in God's image with His attributes, but no one can truly say what they look like other than being immortal beings which can never die, but yet will also be judged in God's final judgement. It's like humans in a sense that their spirit can never die as when a human dies their breath/spirit/soul returns back to God who gave it, Genesis 2:7, Ecc 12:7.

The spirit is not the intellect of the soul, but only the breath that made us a living soul, Genesis 2:7; Ecc 12:7. Ruach, the Hebrew word for spirit here, means "breath" or "wind" as well as "spirit". The soul which makes up the conscious part of ones being is that of thought, action and emotion. When this physical body dies the breath/spirit and soul returns back to God. I think even angels have souls, Luke 15:10; 2 Samuel 14:20; Psalms 103:20. The spiritual nature of man regarded as immortal and separable from the body/flesh at death and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state of God's final judgement, John 5:28, 29. Breath/Spirit/soul are all connected and when this physical body dies the breath/spirit/soul returns back to God, 2 Corinthians 5:8.

1 Corinthians 11:10 A man has Spiritual authority over a woman within the church and at home as women are to be submissive to this Spiritual authority. Some women in Paul's day gave prophecy in the assembling as the power on her head or in other words what she spoke was given to her by the angels being messengers of God. It's like that of John in Revelations where Jesus sent the angel unto him as a messenger to speak to him and show him all those visions. It was Christ who gave to the angel what to speak to John and show him these visions.
Thanks for your response.

Wow guess what I accidentally found last night. StoveBolts asked for my source and references of what I had been saying earlier. I could not remember exactly where I had heard and read about the Angel topic and the Sethite view. And I didn't remember all the time exactly where. Over time I learn a little here, a little there and put the pieces together, and I think over time all of it comes together within me and becomes a part of me within and then its not like I try to remember exactly but since I put the info into me, then the Holy Spirit is able to come and bring it back to our remembrance for us at the proper times. It's like a partnership, lol. We input it and He then uses it through us at His will. Anyway, suddenly it was in my favorites and I dont even recall when I put it there, and of course it is not complete but is a good read on our very topic, so...here it is for your perusal and enjoy!

We must remember that hen we read scripture passages that it should always agree with all of the rest of the entirety of scriptures and it will either shine light and agree with with them or it will not and thererin is our clue to the our proper approach of the ultimate search for our Lord and His truths and righteousness in our lives and growth.

Ohhh, I had such a strange and yet great day yesterday. It was up and down and bad and good to very good and it was such a strange order of events which happened to me and the Lord certainly had His hand in it! but it ended story good. Long story but I think I passed it and the Lord is soo good!
The article that you presented was right on.
I knew that in the Sept. It was rendered angels.
Thanks for the article.

I read that article by Chuck Missler as what I have been saying all along is what he is also saying in his article. He states the Nephilim remains without any clear explanation, but I don't agree with that as we know what causes some men to be very tall just as some men are very little as I already explained that.

Also many like to capitalize the word "sons" in Genesis 6:2, but there is only one Son capitalized in scripture being that of Christ the Son of God. He also states, attempts to apply this term to "godly leadership" is without Scriptural foundation, but made on assumptions without Scriptural support, which I agree with.

The whole of Genesis 6:1-8 is that humankind has become a fallen race as we read vs. 5-8 it repented God that he created man and was about to destroy them, but only Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. In Genesis chapter 5 we find the genealogy of Seth beginning with his son Enos and all the sons of the sons that were faithful to God up to the days of Noah. All we know about is that one particular son whose name is mentioned.

He quotes Matthew 24:37-39 as I believe as the days of Noah will be the same when Christ returns as a thief in the night to those who are scoffers and mockers like that of Noah's day not knowing they were about to be destroyed by the flood as they refused to hear what Noah spoke to them about God. The same was also with Sodom and Gomorrah in Jude 1:7 as the men fornicated and went after strange flesh and God destroyed them all.

There were giants in the land before the flood and also after the flood as I have already explained the genetics of why some are very tall and very short. Only Christ gives them that receive Him the power to become sons of God as an entirely new creation. Let's take Israel for instance as they are called sons of God and daughters of God even though many left their first estate which was the covenant promises God made with Abraham and all generations to come. In a sense it's like the angels we read about in Jude 1:6 who left their habitation which was in heaven in the presence of God and are now bound by God waiting for final judgement for their rebellion against Him and the third of the angels in Rev 12:4 where Satan drew a third of those angels that followed after him and cast them down to the ground. Satan uses these fallen angels as evil messengers unto men deceiving their imaginations and putting strongholds on men keeping them from having faith in God.

Comparing Genesis 5 and the book of 1 Chronicles beginning with Chapter 1 they both begin with Adam's son Seth and his son Enosh and the sons of the sons that are named in Genesis 5 that walked with God. Each one beginning with Enosh had sons and daughters, but as we read in 1 Chronicles not all of them walked with God as it ended up with Noah only finding grace in God.

IMO because scripture does not say when Satan cast the third of the angels down to earth as only Rev 12:4 speaks of the third of the angels Satan drew with his tail. It seems to me that it was possibly at the time when he was in the garden of Eden before the creation of man, Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:11-19 being a dual reference of the king of Tyrus and also Satan, that Satan was cast down to the ground and weakened the nations. Satan still has access to go between earth and heaven as the war in heaven between him and Michael has not happened yet. Demons, evil spirits, unclean spirits and devils found in scripture are as I believe the third of the angels that Satan cast down to the ground.

In Ezek.28:14 states that Satan was a cherub.
He guarded the mercy seat..
In Matt.24:37
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man.
By our recent conversations with each other, you agree that the fallen angels are coming in the end times.
Rev.12:9, correct? 3 1/2 years, Rev.12:14

So why is this so insane to understand?

There is a flood coming alright, coming out of Satan's mouth, lies.
Rev.12:15
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, mother Israel, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

Also, Satan's spirit might be here, but he is not here defacto.
As written, in Jude, He hath reserved unto judgment.

In Jude 13, they are called "wandering stars", Enoch prophesied of these...

A dictionary can solve the problem.

The word translated GIANT means “The one Fallen” properly a feller that is a bully or tyrant: - giant. It is from the root word for fallen. Here is a place where CONTEXT will help define the meaning. There are two groups of people discussed, Sons of GOD and the sons of man. For the Sons of God to marry the daughters of men was forbidden. The Followers of God were to be separate form the FALLEN MAN. The next chapters do not tell us of great success, they are of the end of that first group of “Men”: that disobeyed GOD. The Flood is next. Context says what they did was not what God said do.

If you said George Washington as a Giant among the founders of America, you would have the Idea of this usage only positive. It is used here as a bully or tyrant. There is no reference to Angles here only the fallen, the ones fallen, wicked ones of renown.

Yep, "fallen angels".
The overthrow...cast down....

We have to read Genesis 6:1-8 for what it says. Men began to multiply and daughters were born unto them. The sons of God, (no fallen angels mentioned or even a capital "S"), took these daughters to be their wives. This is how the generations grew from the time of Adam's children up to the time of Noah, in whom was the only one in his day that found favor in the Lord. Thus God saying His spirit will not always strive with man as he is flesh.

God's spirit has not always striven with man as many turned away from God except Seth and the faithful line starting with his son Enos and all the son of the son we read about in Genesis Chapter 5 clear up to Noah.

Brother and sister married each other in order to have children as they multiplied and the generations grew. We don't know how many of Adams sons were faithful to God other than Seth and his lineage we read in Genesis chapter 5 starting with his son Enos and his son, and son and son up to the birth of Noah.

There were giants in the land before and after, which I can only think after the flood, when the sons of God (son is not capitalized and again no fallen angels mentioned) came in unto the daughters of men. Being called a son of God in scripture means one of faith in God. As for giants being born of some of these families is nothing more than a hereditary pituitary disorder causing giantism like that of Robert Pershing Wadlow who stood 8'11.1" and Xishun Bao 7'9" being known as gentile giants.

In the OT you will never see man referred to as sons of God only Angels. It is in the NT that it is given to man to become sons of God.

In the OT just and pious men and the kings of Israel were called sons of God like what is written in Isaiah 63:16 and Jeremiah 31:9 as God was their father and redeemer, which makes them the sons of God.

Could you give me an example of where in the OT, Sister? I went all through that and could not find any.

Isaiah 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

Jeremiah 31:9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

Both of these scriptures plus so many more throughout the OT points to God as being the father, and if the father the men like Jeremiah and Isaiah are His sons.

I would think that we should agree to disagree at this point because I find your last answer very specious and not convincing to me. This was a good thread over all though and a good discussion.

God is Father of all, the good, bad and ugly.

Yes, it seems we will just have to disagree and that's alright as our unity has been that of love and respect for each other through out this thread. This is a good thread and good discussions on how we each understand and how we reach our understandings.

God bless you my friend :)

God is Father of all, the good, bad and ugly.

I agree as the bad and ugly like the tribe of Dan and the tribe of Ephraim who fell to idol worship, like many people still do, and allowed God to be removed from them as their generation will never be a part of the 144,000, Rev 7:1-8. God is still their Father as He judges them and their generations as they have condemned themselves.
Judges 18:30; 1 Kings12:25-33; Hosea 5:9, 11;Psalms 78:9-17, 65-67.
