Christ didn't have to struggle to cast out demons.

Chrsit didn't have to struggle to cast out demons - He gave a command: "Come Out!"

Today people struggle and sweat in the name of casting out demons, they shout and scream (probably to no avail), they sweat and kicked....:dunno :confused :shrug

Some have spent hours, days and weeks casting out the weakest demon. There was a case where a girl was brought down. She hit her body somewhere and bled :shocked Christ didn't practise taekwando deliverance.

Demons are only subject to that of the name of Christ, but only if they see Christ in us. If you look at Luke you see the demons in subjection to the name of Jesus for these men had the authority and power given to them by God, but in Acts these men did not and we overtaken by the demons. Casting out demons is something you never want to do if you have not Gods power and authority to do so.

Luke 10:
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Acts 19:
13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Yeah. Thanks for sharing the verse. (I think one of the problems people have is fear...on the subject)

Let's put it this way. Casting out demons is not for the weak to do. I've dealt with having to do this a couple of times and if you are not allowing Jesus to do the casting out and try to do it alone then that demon will eat you alive. Only God can lead us to cast out demons by the name of Jesus, but only if we have Christ in us.

I think there is a case in the bible where a man who wasn't saved (probably not saved) set a demon-posessed free. He only gave a command in HIS (Christ's name.)

Is this the verse you were thinking about? They called these evil spirits out but ended up having the evil spirit jump in them because they had not Christ in them.

There were some deamons that did not come out except by prayer and fasting.
I have a lot of questions about those who make a side show of it all. But I know of real miricles when two or three command deliverance when acting purely in obedience to God.

Praying and fasting? YES, Jesus said that. I can't find the verse. What I don't really understand is why some would spend forever casting out a demon.
