Christianity and Competition

Does Christianity require competition? Do we need fellow Christian competitors? :shrug :confused.

Quality tends to get better when there are competitors 'cause everyone wants to offer best outputs for higher patronage.

Or is there just a standard?

I don't think Christianity requires competition in the sense of "winners and losers." I do believe that we can sharpen each other (Prov 27:17) and provoke one another toward love and good works (Hebrews 10:24).

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.

That's saying that in a race we want to win. But in a race with Jesus we have already won the prize: HIS love for us.

So, no there shouldn't be any competition in Christianity. To me, it doesn't matter who wins. He could care less. We are all winners to HIM.

P.s. That's my only post n this whole thread. God bless and happy debating.

Great answer Dana! :thumbsup

If you want to compete consider this..

Matthew 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
