Christ's ...Last Will and Testament

A.) Hebrews 9:15 "And for this cause he (Christ) is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

9:16 For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

9:17 For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth".

Now, for those who failed to understand what the Bible just said here.....

When men make out their last will....that last will is of no effect, as long as they are alive.

But, when a man dies, then that last will and testament, goes into effect.

*******************************************************************

B.) Galations 3:15 "Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though [it be] but a man's covenant, yet [if it be] confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto".

Now again, for those who failed to understand what this Bible text is saying......

Is the fact, that no man, can change a person's last will and testament, after a person dies !

Otherwise, it is a criminal action...in terms of fraud, and or forgery.

*******************************************************************

Now, we know Jesus did not write out a will, as men do today, BUT....

We have 4 reliable witnesses, regarding the last will and tesatment of Jesus Christ.

These 4 men recorded everything, Jesus Christ put into His last will.......

Matthew

Mark

Luke

and ...John

Matthew summed Christ's last will and testament up, in Matthew 28:19.....

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

28:20 "Teaching them to observe [all things] whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen".

Baptism ...is in Christ's last will and testament.

The Lord's Supper...is in the Christ's last will and testament.

Jesus commanded it and He did it....before He died, thus sealing these ordinaces within, His last will and testament, do you understand ?

OK now, when did Jesus Christ ever mention, anything, about Sunday (1st day of the week) worship services ?

When He got up out of the grave on Sunday.
You SDAs cannot even count- His advent was the THIRD day.

There is no "last will" for the Eternal God. There is only His will, as He reveals it

I am not an SDA, but when does mia ton sabbaton mean "first day of the week", that is, Sun Day?

And why do we choose this pagan day of worship and incorporate it into our worship?

Because God got tired of all of those Sitting on their butts on Sat day? :D

Mia ton sabbaton means first of seven. Sunday is a name you Western Christians use, and I by extension, living in America as I do. We Eastern Christians refer to the first day of the week as Kyriaki, or Lord's Day.

Are you questioning Christ's Resurrection on the first day of the week?

As to the day of His bodily resurrection:
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first [day] of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
And when the Sabbath was past- ie, on the beginning of the first day- or rather, the next morning, of the first day., or as it reads in Greek
kai lian proi tis mia sabbaton

I don't know why you worship on the First Day, if indeed you do. I know why I do.

I am confused, (as usual by the indication of most). What does the day of Christs' resserection have to do with the Sabbath?

I have always understood that the Jewish folks have kept track of the Sabbath for thousands of years. Is this NOT true?

This is the question tht Jay asked in the OP:

To which the answers and disputes have come.

In Luke 23:52-24:3.....the Bible tells us, that the 7th day sabbath, was the day before...Christ arose from the grave, the day we call Sunday (1st day of the week).
Satan has used the resurrection day of Jesus Christ to his advantage ....WITH GREAT SUCCESS !

Daniel 7:25 ('Think to change times and Laws') is the Bible prophecy of where some anti-Christian power, would attempt to change God's Law, regarding time.
And, of all the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:3-17)....only the 4th commandment (Law), deals with time.
I have always understood that the Jewish folks have kept track of the Sabbath for thousands of years. Is this NOT true?
Yes, it is true.
But, remember.....the 7th day sabbath is not...Jewish !

The 7th day Sabbath was created by God...blessed by God....made HOLY by God (Genesis 2:2,3).....some 2300+ years...BEFORE...there ever was a Jew.

Jesus Christ made the point of saying that the sabbath was made for man (Mark 2:28)....every man !

The Greek word for 'man', in that Bible verse means...human being.

I find it telling how you overlook how Christ has and will use the day of Resurrection to His advantage. If Satan's greatest success was getting people to observe Sabbath on the first day rather than the seventh, I'd suggest Satan's "success" is difficult to find in measurable quantities.

Scene: The fifth plane of despair, hell
Satan is having his shoes shined by the spirit of Cyrus Scofield. Two demons enter, carrying a stack of charts and reports

Satan: Get out of here, Scofield, and see if you can inspire a few more Christians to reject their Arab Christian brothers in favor of those Zionists. And take that cracked pot White with you- she's good at inspiring hatred of the Church
Scofield and EG White slither off

Satan: Now let's have those reports!!

Demon 1: Yes boss. We have great success to announce! Millions of Christians are still observing the sabbath on the first day!

Demon 2: (sounding just like Scooby Doo)
EE-hee-he-he-he

Satan: You mean they're worshipping God, resting, fellowshipping, and giving thanks....but on the first day, instead of the seventh!?

Demons 1 and 2: Yes!!! Hooray!!

Satan: You two are idiots.!! (destroys them in a flash of lightning)
I need Falwell and Robertson down here, they really know how to deceive the elect.
<fade>

The preceding was purely satire. I would never really pretend to know what plane of hell Scofield and EG White are on. Again, I kid.

Do try to get the point, anal retentive Sabbatarians.

You and I had nothing to say about our coming into this world, BUT....how and where we spend eternity is entirely in our hands, and depends wholly upon our own choice.

If you choose to spend eternity in God's everlasting Kingdom, then you must bring your life into harmony with God's ways, with his ideals and standards, with His Laws ...and pattern of living.

For He will not change His Kingdom to suit your convenience or comform to your ideas.

His is a Kingdom of Righteousness (Right-doing) and Peace and Joy.
If you want to live in God's Kingdom, you must be Righteous (Yourself), at peace with God and man.

The Prophet Isaiah states the matter very clearly and leaves no one in doubt regarding who will make the change.
He says: "Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near...let the wicked forsake his way, and the UNrighteous man his thoughts.....FOR MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS, NEITHER ARE YOUR WAYS MY WAYS, SAYS THE LORD.
FOR AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH, SO ARE MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR WAYS, AND MY THOUGHTS HIGHER THAN YOUR THOUGHTS", (Isaiah 55:8,9)

Such is the difference between God's eternal Knigdom and the Kingdoms of this world.
Here on this earth man's ideas and ways prevail, BUT over there God's thoughts and standards hold absolute sway.
If you don't like them, then you will not be there.
For God does not want you there in His everlasting Kingdom UNLESS you want to be thereand are willing to conform your life in EVERY detail to His ways and wishes, to His pattern of noble living.
That is it, as far as His Kingdom is concerned, and he says in effect: Take it or leave it !

There will be no compulsion, no coercion, no undue persuasion, no force of any kind.
There will be no more compromising, or coddling.
It is this or else. God is through with sin and sinners.
He has set a day when sin and those who hang onto their sins will be eradicated and destroyed wherever it may be found.
WHY ?
God has, for thousands of years, felt the pain and sufferings of people, who have been effected by sin and its consequences.
He has felt the starvation of little children....
He has felt the pain and suffering of those people who died under the terrible diseases, such as cancer, Black Plague, etc.
He has felt the pain of people, who have lost loved ones, through wars...accidents....etc.

God knows the kinds of people He wants with him throughout all eternity in His Kingdom of Peace and Joy, where no more sin, sickness or sorrow will be found.

As God looks down upon this world of ours, He does not see may different religions or faiths by which men live. He does not see even one of them.....Christianity divided as it is into many different sects, groups, or denominations.
This division among the Christian people did not originate with God. It is not recognized in the scriptures.
For if we read in Psalms 14:....we come to the conclusion that in God's sight there are in the world but 2 classes of people.
Verse 2 says....."The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God".

"Here is the patience of the saints...here are they that keep the commandments of God, and have the faith of Jesus", (Revelation 14:12)
