Only God can transform ones life as His Spirit works in us and through us to reach out to others with the Gospel of grace as we let the light of Christ shine through us. Through Gods grace He has given us His power and authority over all principalities to go out into the world to proclaim His mighty name through discipleship and servitude.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Anyone who has given his or her life over to the Lord has the ability to continue the works of the Lord for the glory of the Kingdom of God through the diversities of gifts given by the Holy Spirit. As we are all one in the body of Christ, so are the gifts given to one body, though given separately to those believers that will receive them to be able to function as a whole. God wants our availability, not our ability. Never doubt about being able to carry on the works of the Lord, because doubt only comes from the sin of unbelief and Satan loves to fill our minds with doubt when we waver in our belief.
Romans 14:23 and he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
1Peter 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
The works of the Lord are not just teaching his word behind a pulpit as the works of the Lord also include feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and not turning our backs on those that are in prison. The meaning of prison can be twofold as meaning actual prison and also those who imprison themselves by the hardships of their own lives. The works of the Lord is the witness of God shared with people that do not know him, Matthew 25:31-40.
