Bible Study Condemnation? Which Is It?

hello smaller, dirtfarmer here

What I rejoice in is the salvation of the Lord, because I am not worthy but his righteousness, that is imputed to me by faith, has removed all condemnation.
Romans 8:1 "There is therefore no condemnation, to them which are in Christ Jesus."
If you are still "in or have condemnation" you are without salvation.
Ephesians 2:5-6 " Even when we were dead in sins( speaks in past tense), hath quickened us together with Christ, ( by grace ye are saved;) and has raise us up together( does Christ have a nature to sin?) and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus."

What is your interpretation of 1 John3:9-10 " Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin: for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Good morning dirtfarmer, Dirt Bag Chopper here.:lol You asked....

From what I understand we are talking about a continual lifestyle of sinning. A true biblical born again believer in Jesus Christ, will sin occasionally, not continually with no realization that it's wrong and needs to stop.

hello Chopper, dirtfarmer here

I agree

Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (KJV)

Lets look at this statement. I see two possibilities regarding "No Condemnation".
1. If I'm IN Christ Jesus. Is my "position" (Biblical Salvation)?

2."Who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit". Is my WALK Spirit led?

So, is "no condemnation" a position or is it a walk.

Have you ever noticed that the Revised Version doesn't include the "walk"?
Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus." (RV)

According to Kenneth Wuest....The words "who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit," are rejected by both Nestle and Westcott and Hort.

Dr. Wuest's Translation: Therefore, now, there is not even one bit of condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus....Apparently he felt that the Apostle Paul leaned to the "position".

Hey Friends....Which is it??

It is my understanding the three words "in Christ Jesus" carry the weight here. Every born again believer is in Christ Jesus, understanding what it means to be in Christ is where the no condemnation comes from.
I know plenty of wonderful born again people that live with condemnation. So my answer is " to be in Christ Jesus " with knowledge, Eph. 1:17-18.

There really isn't supposed to be Condemnation for the Heathen...And anyone who claims Christ even less so.

Paul's statement is an exaggerated understatement... Especially if my previous posts in this thread are true. (Which I am fairly certain of)

Yes the heathen are condemned already, and there is no condemnation to those in Christ to the Father.
But the Christian knowledge of that can be a different story.
Pauls revelation of the Indwelling Christ, Gal. 1:15-16, 2:20, are good starting points for the believer.

You will have to read post number 8 (mine) to understand exactly what I am saying.

The telling about Christ and sin should not include Condemnation...Ever. especially for a Believer.
That includes judging yourself. (Which Paul talks about later)

There are such things as self pity and false humility disguising arrogance which fuel cognitive dissonance that a Christian isn't to engage in.

A rather long and tedious sermon can be made out of this one verse..(and many have been)

Very good my friend. That's what I believe as well. Thank you.

The word "walk" refers to one's habitual manner of living; either according to the demands (lusts) of the flesh or according to the direction of the Holy Spirit. Man either acts habitually (walks) to please himself or acts habitually (walks) to please God.

The term "in Christ" is a technical description of salvation. Eph 5 speaks of Christ and the Church as being like a husband and wife who "become one flesh" and are joined to one another by God. Paul also uses the metaphor of being part of the "body of Christ" to describe our relationship with Christ.

On the spiritual level (which is reality just like the physical level is reality) believers have become one with Christ.

Jesus described it as follows: “At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you." John 14:20 (NKJV)
That describes being intimately united to and in God the Father and Son and, in other verses, the Holy Spirit.
