Coronavirus

How is 119 deaths flattening the curve? :confused (I think that means that it's getting better but it only seems to be getting worse and it hasn't even peaked yet. :sad)

Flattening the curve just means people catch it a few at a time, so there are enough hospital beds for them.

They need tests, masks, and meds to actually defeat 19. Its taking a long time to build things they need. Lockdown just slows 19 a bit to give them time to build things they need to fight 19.

Ok
You are right.
We have tens of thousands getting sick every day. Hundreds to over a thousand dying each day.
Only 2,000 recoveries per day.
And this is with the current meds.

And they used to not have the meds they currently do.

And I personally know of some people who have some really good approaches to cures that are in the works. Stage one for one of them and data collection and number crunchers for the other....stage two this summer. Enough data collected and collated this summer too.

The later we can put off getting this virus the better our chances of surviving this thing.
I'm ok with that

Excellent. Keep up the good work scientists.

When it's all over everyone will be put into slavery in order to pay for everything.
No one will have any freedoms or liberties.
And despite all the efforts and sacrifices made by the world the sick will continue to die and the elderly will continue to die just like it always was.
The natural order of the world, as sanctioned by God, will not change.

For the elderly I say pray and repent often. Do not be afraid of death, do not hesitate when it's time for God to call out your name for you will be leaving this crooked world and entering eternal life. We love you and you will always be remembered in our hearts and minds until we meet again in God's kingdom

I don't want tested. I trust the Lord. You're probably more likely to catch it around hospitals & doctors than anywhere else anyway lol.
And currently the medical field is experiencing a huge drop in patients.
People who would normally seek out medical care are avoiding doing so because of what you said right here.

This is what's called secondary effects of a pandemic. People who should have seen a doctor don't... either from fear or the doctors are too busy. It still causes an increase in the death toll but for reasons other than the pandemic itself... even though the pandemic is the root cause.

Just another frustration of what is going on.

The government in Australia has given the police the power to fine anyone who is outside despite upholding the social distancing standards

We are still allowed to go outside to exercise so I would consider any time in the park to be exercise. We're not allowed to go for a swim, fishing or even for a drive.
It's got to the point where we're living in an authoritarian state now

stuart, fl they arrested a lady for knowing testing positive and not quarantine nor wearing any protection. Im all for freedom but well if I sneeze on my mother who is in her 70s, and she dies and I knew I had it, I should see time.

we jailed hiv positive persons for knowingly spreading it.

Sanitation seems to be improving now, due to 19. Previously, many medical waiting rooms were Petri dishes during flu season. A group of people sitting around in close quarters, many of them coughing. Then they go in the exam rooms and cough. The next patient in the room has to breathe in all of those germs.

It was probably always a good idea for patients to wear N95 or better during flu season when they go to the doctor. At least the elderly, who should take extra precautions to avoid the flu. Winter visitors to nursing homes should be issued surgical masks, and not let in unless they wear them.

Maybe 19 will have a long lasting affect on how Americans perceive the benefits of mask wearing. It really is a good idea during flu season for the elderly to wear N95 or better in public spaces. When N95s ever become available again.

I should ask my nuclear biological and chemical trained friends on decontamination and how hard it is.in short, think of the air, the ground as being poison and you must decon everything , except you really cant.

oddly, the people who decide to wear a mask to risk sickness to get an oil change. its not just that. seen that while running, and also gardening. strange. reading meters renders gloves and masks useless as I would have to decon each time I exit the truck. the truck itself. and also the meter themselves.

given that article on the ocean carrying bacteria and the air from the waves being carriers for pathogens( I have been hit by brown tide ) makes it more risky. there are meters where I go to the dune to get reads.

people are nasty. the things I see at parks, chiefly the homeless, also while reading usually in the poorer areas. I hate seeing trash near meters or in them. I haven't seen dog poop placed on the meter in a long time. I remember that one time. the box was cleaned and the poop stacked neatly on the dial itself. I lifted the cover completely off and used my rod to move that off and got the read and yup next month the same again. no dog would lift the acess to place their waste neatly like that on a dial. the owner was doing that.

There were pictures of workers in other countries walking down the street spraying stuff to decontaminate their city. I wonder how effective it was?
