Bible Study Could the narrative of Genesis be interpreted as reflecting humanity’s historical shift from hunter-gatherer societies to that of herding and farming?

LanaPodesta there is no need to try and interpret the Genesis account as it is very clear in what has already been written. It's only when we step outside of scripture to reading the various theologies of man is when interpretation can be very deceiving coming against the word of God. :readbible

Genesis Chapter 1 shows us exactly how God created the World.

Genesis Chapter 2 God created plants and created Adam and Eve

Genesis Chapter 3 the fall of Adam and Eve as God drove them out of the garden of Eden.

Genesis Chapter 4 the beginning of Cain and Abel as Abel was a keeper of sheep and Cain a tiller of the ground. Also teaches of the offerings made to God one being favored of God and the other not favored.

Genesis Chapter 6 man started to multiply and the wickedness of man increased as they fell away from God as it repented God that He created man, but only found favor in Noah saving only he and his family as God sent a flood destroying man in whom He created.

It doesn't, it describes it in a vague and abstract way.
Genesis creation is very explicit and nothing abstract or vague about how God created everything as all He had to do was speak it into existence. "And God said".

Why are you not reading the Bible, but only coming against that which has already been written.

May I ask if you are Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit?

As soon. As you take the focus off God and His glory you are misinterpreting any part of the Bible.
The Bible is about Him not us.

So God had a literal voice? What language was He speaking in?
I'm done with your foolishness trying to play all of us as you find trolling around the forums to be entertaining to you. You have been here for almost a year now being fed the word of God, yet you play the fool that leads you away from God and His Son Christ Jesus. There is nothing that we do that is not seen by God who judges all of us. If you want to be serious about having a relationship with Christ we are here to help you, but other than that you are wasting our time with your foolishness and I feel sorry for you, but yet will continue to pray for you.

I'm literally a member of an Apostolic Church

Now if you're saying God had a literal voice then tell me which language he spoke in.

You're not allowed to pray for me. You're heterodox.

You're not allowed to pray for me. You're heterodox.
I am praying for you as you can not stop anyone for praying for another. Being a member of any Church does not make you a child of God just because you go to church. Unless you are of faith in God and His Son Christ Jesus being Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit, John 3:5-7; Romans 10:9-10. then you are none of His own. By you refuting what we have been giving you in scripture I can only believe you have never had that personal relationship with Jesus nor have you studied the Bible. Please prove me wrong as we are only trying to help you learn.

If believing that of what has already been written in the word of God, without worldly majority rule traditional interpretations of scripture, makes me heterodox then you have no problem with me. But, your problem is with God and His Son Christ Jesus in what they have already spoken and inspired the Prophets and Apostles to write of their witness and testimonies of God and Christ Jesus who inspired them to write for our learning.

Now if you're saying God had a literal voice then tell me which language he spoke in.
If you would study the Bible there are around 476 times where God literally spoke directly to a person mostly in the OT in their own language.

You're not allowed to pray for me. You're heterodox.

1Tim 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; (All means all whether they be God's own and those who do not know Him.)
1Tim 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (We are to pray for our Government)
1Tim 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour (we are called to pray for everyone)

I'm aware. So can you tell me which language He spoke in when He 'spoke' the world into existence

He spoke His language. The text does not say if it was a language known to humans.
What do we know for sure?
Exactly what the text says.
"God said let there be light and there was light" and so on.

You are free to speculate all you want but spiritual things are not discernible using human logic or thought, they must be spiritually and the only way to discern things spiritually is through His revalation the bible.

where does it say He spoke ANY language?

if they're not to be discerned with 'human logic' how can you say that it is literal?
