CS Lewis

C S Lewis said that religions are like soup. Some, like consommé, are thin and clear (Unitarianism and Confucianism, modern Judaism). Others, like minestrone, are thick and dark (paganism, “mystery†religions). Only Hinduism and Christianity are both thin (philosophical) and thick (sacramental, mysterious). I think much of Protestantism has strained all the nourishing bits out of Christianity (the minestrone) and left a thin gruel. Perhaps they have grown accustomed to it and are satisfied with such poor fare.

Thats my opinion.

BTW: Merry Christmas

Interesting.

I agree to a point but Lewis belonged to the Church of England, did he not? I think he would have said that Roman Catholicism has added too many bits, leaving it too thick and dark, maybe to the point of gluttony.

And that's my opinion.

Merry Christmas to you as well.

Hmm....yes it wouldn't surprise me that Lewis was Anglican himself. I would agree with Free. I would be interested to hear what problems you have with Protestantism, Catholic. (Probably for another topic).

Merry Christmas to you too! :)

I find any one person that attacks another's beliefs is a bit bitter. Then that is just me. Think we all, myself included, could use a little TLC...and set such an example by witnessing in love. Which I know can be harder to practice than preach.

God will use people from all denominations to accomplish His will, don't think for one second otherwise.
