Walking is limited for now,strength etc will be worked on.

My dad has had a stroke.

Don't worry, good and evil is in Gods hands and he can put anything right if you have faith.

Physical therapy should go a long way with helping him to regain regular movements.

Once he's home, and when you can, take him swimming (in a pool setting). Swimming really helps with strength development.

no. mom hasn't sent me where he is at healthsouth or if he is there. with the storm looming I might not able to see him.

Lol.I'm not worrying about a cat 1.phhtt.my home rodr out a ts this size that sat over my area for a week.

Understandable about a cat 1. My area deals with tornadoes, along with severe thunderstorms of varying strengths. We've had winds in excess of 80 mph, without tornado activity in the immediate area.

I haven't seen him yet. I know that he has to be there for a few months. my mom sent me a text late sunday

Therapy after a stroke can take a while. And it's best to remain where he's at so the therapy can be more effective sooner.

Fish in the lake.his voice is normal. He will be home on the 13th but it's like he has dementia

Show him pictures of everyone ... talk about some of the stories he's told over the years that you remember. Whether a stroke or a head injury, it may appear as though dementia has set in. Instead, the brain just needs some reminders to open the memory passages. It will take time, though. And there aren't guarantee all memories will return.
