Daniel 8:7-8 King James Version (KJV)
7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Daniel 8:7-8 New English Translation (NET Bible)
7 I saw it approaching the ram. It went into a fit of rage against the ram and struck it and broke off its two horns. The ram had no ability to resist it. The goat hurled the ram to the ground and trampled it. No one could deliver the ram from its power. 8 The male goat acted even more arrogantly. But no sooner had the large horn become strong than it was broken, and there arose four conspicuous horns in its place, extending toward the four winds of the sky.

7 This ram losing its horns means it can’t affect defend itself but the goat still has the one horn to attack and defeat the goat. The ram could not be helped but was under the power of the goat. People who reject Jesus are under the power of satan with do defense.
8 So this one horn broke into four horns. This could mean one kingdom broke into four parts. We should not be arrogant because the Lord will use that to often break us, let us be humble and exalt the Lord.
