Where did Jesus perform his first miracle? At a wedding party (where there was drinking!). He had fun with his friends and family.

As long as you aren't doing anything sinful (like going to strip clubs or avoiding going to church), there is nothing intrinsically wrong with having fun.
 
For me the decision was easy I had just

swept up my former life or rather he did it for me and therefore alcohol is something I never think about.
No really when he gave me my new life he how do you say he reinstalled the desire for him and he alone, hard to believe over 10 years. So go to your party's it won't bother me :wink:

It's like some people think God gave us a concentration camp to live in. Look around you, God created a beautiful world and gave us the faculties to enjoy it.

If you really think that alcohol cannot be enjoyed responsibly, then you've got some issues. Alcoholism is a bad thing, being drunk is a sin. But drinking and enjoying this life which God gave to us is not a bad thing!

Lighten up people. God has a sense of humor, find your own.
 
So then what are you saying? that you know how God thinks I used to think this was cute,
what do you think or rather how do you think God sees all of this?....

Drinking alcohol or just sitting talking to your friends is quite a different matter than drinking so much that you are unable to act like a human being. Reductio ad absurdum isn't helping you.
 
Exactly that's my point I was the scum of the earth a loathsome creature disliked by all.
Then I met My Jesus and my life is brand new, Praise God! When I was running guns and
dealing heroin I thought I was on top of the world, but we all know if the foundation
isn't built on the rock the wind comes and blows it away away downtown to the county jail!

My goal now is to be in his service and serve him all the days of my life. I guess I brought
my testimony to this thread and I hope no body is upset because I did.
I just can't help it its like this everywhere I go :wink:

darkwater isn't saying that he "knows how God thinks", . . . and I will tell YOU (and anyone else who thinks they DO know how God thinks) that you don't either!! So many times, even the most devout/pious Christian puts God in a smaller box than "those sinners out there".
 
I should rephrase that to say, I DOUBT that darkwater is saying that. Regardless, I stand behind what I said!

Good post lee but whats even worse is how christianity has taken on the likeness of newage. I never thought of christianity as a religion. I see it as a dependence of Christ in us and learning to yield to His Spirit not our own ( Self) If theres one thing we need to look at is ourselves and how were alllowing our sinful nature to conform to what Christ is doing in the new nature. Self must Die and this is something the Lord is leading me to see about myself. The other is being aware of how some of our old habits are alot like what were discussing about wicca and newage.
The hardest thing to do is to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not onto our own understanding. God's ways our not our ways and when we try to rationalize something spiritual which is carnal ( Ex. psychics. or Astrology) It may seam harmless but it is distructive to our spirit.
Whats your sign? Well i am aries...Kool! When we think we are having fun were inviting demonic strongholds in our lives especially if were Christians ( Followers of Christ).
another spirit we need to worry about is leaning to much on Pastors or teachers rather then the Spirit of God. How many times have you discussed the word with someone and there response was: Well i need to ask my pastor about that. ( theres the stronghold )
If your willing to take the red pill read frank violas book Pagan Christianity. If not be content with the purple pill and just stay blind to whats happening.
Our Children and friends are being sucked in to the Accult because Christ isn't active in there communities ( Lives of people who express Christ in them rather they express there parsonage or there church they go to.
Don't misunderstand me i am all for The Church as long as it is the Church 2 or 3 gathered together in my name. David

Things are about to get very hot and Hell is behind it. I was listening to a Christian radio station this morning when their reporter said that due to the popularity of the likes of Harry Potter and his series of books our young people are dabbling into the occult at an alarming rate! Well, it won't be because I haven't spoken up against it.
This is exactly what I'm talking about, in general topics. First, a little bit of magic, a little bit of fantasy, a bit of fairies, elves, imps, and such.
A little more, and a little more, and soon, the little child's mind is totally open for demonic posession, and the child is JUST FINE WITH CASTING SPELLS, or witchcraft, and that child will go to hell, if the child is not rescued, and born again.

I totally agree with you, wicca and all it's cousins, is on the rise, and rising IN THE CHURCHES.
