I haven't watched the video yet but I had a nightmare a couple to a few nights ago where I was climbing down this great big cliff and I'm already pretty sure that you wouldn't be able to pay me to go to any of these places. :eek2

One of my daughters in law grew up in Africa. A family of friends from America were visiting them and they went to Victoria Falls together. The mother stepped the wrong way taking a picture and fell into the falls. Her body was never found.
My son has been there and said they have none of the railings where he was that would surely be in place if those falls were in America.

Aww,.. I'm really sorry to hear about that. That's terrible! :crying

We went to the Grand Canyon once and started down a 4 ft wide trail. I realized my mistake with a toddler in tow so we turned back after going maybe 50ft. On our way back we ran into a single mother trying to take 3 small children down that trail. She asked why I turned around and I told her I thought it was too dangerous for small kids. She looked at me and said maybe she might better turn back too. I told her I sure would. I basically made her turn back by blocking her way and imploring her she should take them back. I would've moved for her if she insisted but she agreed and took them back.

One day I would love to go to the Grand Canyon, but part of me is afraid to and I could live without. Although, I know for certain I would never go with small children as it seems too risky. I would also not go in the summer months. I would think October or April would be better weather months. Then again, it depends which part of the canyon you would visit, too. I definitely wouldn't go during monsoon season.

I think some people when visiting don't calculate for the heat of the hotter months or the dangers of ice in the winter months and the rapid temperature drops after the sun goes down.

One thing for sure......no picture could ever do it justice.

You don't have to walk down inside to enjoy the beauty. It is very neat to go down, but the views from the ridges is what sticks in your mind the rest of your life. I went twice, each in winter. It was cold, my favorite backpacking weather, and back then very few people around in the winter. Probably crowded year round now.

A monsoon is a lot of rain right?

What do you mean? I am curious.
the Lake, is on YouTube has minerals that when animals or birds get wet the turn ti stone and that’s how you find their dead bodies, birds that landed in the water freeze into that position. You really have to see it to appreciate. Can’t imagine what it must feel like to the unlucky swimmer. How are you ?
