i have -1- long term friendly acquaintance/friend. we've known each other for 20 years, now (we're both 36). and...
-sigh- she completed a 2nd undergraduate degree and got a masters degree in a better paying field than what she started in. I am so happy for her! its not just $$$...its that she's mellowed, she's settled, she's a lot, a lot, a lot happier.
thing is...she's still -not- a believer. and...as unbelievers go, dealing with her is probably 1/10th as difficult as dealing with most people on the broad road. thing is...
its like, she seems to respect my faith, but she's very much...not for Him, obviously. so, I'm kinda sorta glad our friendship, now, is largely long distance. not that she's terrible and I'm an amazing saint (lol), just...
'welcome to the real world,' yet again (bear with me; I've only -very- recently truly recovered from shock treatments, etc.)...there's a limit to how close Christians can (or, really should, based on Scripture...) get to those still in and of the world. so, this is sort of...my limited exposure, like riding a tricycle or something.
-sigh- no one is perfect, this side of eternity. even in Heaven, we are -perfected in Him- , its not thru our own effort or...blah blah blah, I just want to be able to deal with un-believers, without finding myself on the broad road again (not a good place, amen).
Thanks.
