[__ Science __ ] Death, Friend of Evolution

Is death a problem or an evolutionary solution to cull the “unfit”?
Natural selection demonstrably tends to produce organisms that are more likely to survive long enough to reproduce. So it's one of the things God created to make our world work.

Death was the enemy until Jesus defeated it for all time by His death and resurrection. So it has no hold us us as Christians. If Jesus came to save us from physical death, He failed; we will all die someday. But He gave us the gift of salvation if we choose to take it.

And that's why we aren't bound to physical creation.

One of the issues I have always had with articles from Answers in Genesis is that most of them don't tackle the subject matter straight on, and instead use the topic to grand stand other issues.

The first half of the article is about the author's difficulty with dealing with the death of a loved one, but also strays into slights about Halloween and the brutality of national geographic specials framing how predators hunt.

Instead of going into how to deal with death from a Biblical world view, its more a vehicle to rail against society and perceived enemies. The theory of Evolution doesn't glorify death but deals with it directly. Organisms either survive or die. Resources are limited and if an organism can't get the resources or becomes a resource, they will die. That isn't a moral statement, but a statement of how organisms are.

Instead of tackling this head on and explaining how to use a Christian world view to approach and prevent needless death, instead its a political piece about how Non Christians are obsessed with death instead of grappling with what is going on from the other's view point.

Remember though, it is written somewhere that all society (the world's people) is death-dealing, not healing.

As for evlution, no need to think about those theories. They don't fit nor work to anyone's benefit, do they ?

That has nothing to do with my criticisms on the article. The article is headlined about death being the friend of evolution, but instead its a piece about how the author is annoyed with halloween that happened during the funeral of a loved one. Its not a positive article about how the author endured the loss of a loved one with the contrast about how others cope with death. Instead its an attack on others for being different to her and falsely assuming the motives of those around her.

The theory of evolution, like germ theory, Relativity, and gravity are purely models of explanation that are useful in scientific application. Nothing more. They have use in engineering, biology, medicine, etc.

The boogeyman treatment and misrepresentation that AiG has done has done more damage than it protects due to how many atheists citing how they felt lied to and gaslit. Understanding a theory should not be a problem.

Most Christians I have explained the theory to without using the name "evolution" understand it and it does not shatter their faith. For the most part it has zero effect. Mainly because places like AiG over exaggerate the issue.

The theory is about population mechanics and heritability. Its a field of study. You can literally say God made it all look this way and boom the problem goes away.

Background radiation, heliocentrism, ancestry, the death of the Aether theory, didn't destroy Christainity and the Theory of evolution won't either. Manipulating people and gaslighting them will though. If a person feels lied too their sense of trust is broken and that is the first chink in the armor that usually leads people to leaving religion. I just think AiG could literally stop misrepresenting the theory of evolution and the big bang theory, and instead focus on articles of relating how the Christian ethic works with science and get better results.

Today's winner.

There are many things that are true, that are not in scripture. Stick to truth.

Someone once said "Know the truth, and the truth will set you free." A Christian should never be afraid of the truth.

Because they were easily proven facts that had little or nothing to do with history. Only the PRESENT. They do not conflict with Biblical history even from a "literal" standpoint.

In fact, those 1st 2 are able to be argued that they align with Bible truth.
God created light. All wavelengths. That's why there is CMB.

Ancestry? ??
and the Theory of evolution won't either.
But it will compromise the faith of many. It is glazed by the Secularists more than some actual science is.

I've seen many young people come to me in crisis, having been falsely taught that YE creationism is Biblical, and then realizing that YE creationism cannot be true.

YE creationism is a very efficient atheist-maker. This is the real damage it does to God's Church.
