Well hello you cigar smoking duck....I haven't seen you for quite awhile. :wave

Would you and Vic care to list the "things" I'm saying that "are not?" Along with Scripture of course.
When you take a scripture completely out of context and pretend it says things it doesnt and apply it to things that it doesnt, well we dont have to say a thing...your own ignorance speaks for itself.
Anyone in this thread can read that passage for themselves and see that you are twisting it to say things it doesnt and apply it to that which it does not apply.

I decided a while back to just let you do your own damage to yourself in the eyes of the readers here.
I hardly need to even say a word when anyone here can see how absurd your conclusions are and how poor your skills with the scripture actually are.

:lol

In other words.....you can't provide the "completely taken out of context scripture." :lol I'll have to proceed with my "absurd conclusions" and "poor Scriptural skills" while you talk about preterism. :crazy

We all have a great deal to learn FOC and throwing words like that around doesn't lead to a pleasant atmosphere in which to learn. If you, and others, have problems with what I have said then please correct it with His Word.

Until then I am reminded of....

  • Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Death, comes into our windows to enter our homes. To me this means through our windows to the world...our televisions and computers.
And yet here you are, using your computer that brings death into your home.
Something tells us that you dont actually believe this nonsense or you wouldnt own a computer :lol

Yes, the television, the computer along with many things are fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They are used for both. I use mine for good. Not all do. :verysad

TO THE READER HERE.

I posted a couple items from commentators above.
The reason I did this is because Ive learned not to waste my entire day arguing with Whirlwind about her absurd insertions into the scriptures.
Its sort of like if she proclaimed that the moon was made of cheese.
How do you convince a person who is so deluded that its not really made of cheese. Man has been to the moon and we know its NOT made of cheese, but for those who are delusional enough to reject the facts there comes a time when you simply sit back, smile and nod and let them ramble on about how the moon is made of cheese and know that those who listen to them know that they are deluded.

No offense intende to WW, but this is precisely where I am with her.

.

Oh...no offense taken. :-) It's part of the game. I provide His Word...you on the other hand give us words of man.

Pardon me while I go and get some crackers to go with the cheese. :D

I gave the words of real scholars about that passage.
I not interested in wasting my day with you saying precisely what someone else has said about the matter to correct you yet one more time.

As I said, when a person is deluded and makes up some crazy doctrine by inserting absurd conclusions into the texts, there is pretty much nothing that can be said to them that is going to change their minds.

How does one convince you that the earth is not flat if YOU BELIEVE that the earth is flat ?
Even pictures from space could be argued to just be a flat disk and you could call the globes we have a lie.
You have chosen to follow the path of delusion and thus create all sorts of absurdities with scriptures and there is nothing that I or anyone else here can say to change your mind.
We do know that the readers here arent ignorant and they will test your nonsense for themselves and see that your conclusions are wrong.
So why would I waste MY day better spent on things I can have an impact on in debating with you again ?
I know where I can have an impact and I know where it isnt necessary.
No one here needs for me to correct your absurd views for them to see it for themselves.

Until then I am reminded of....

  • Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Very interesting that the wolf does not even recognize when it speaks of itself.

You do realize, friend, that every single thing youve posted here other than one verse in jeremiah has been the 'words of men', right ?
You certainly do not equate your own ramblings and fallacious conclusions with Gods scriptures, Id hope.
You dont.....right ?

You have provided a verse and then taken the intent of that verse into the realms of fantasy and daydreams.
But then, thats pretty typical for you, isnt it ;)

You see WW, it's not a game and I do not approach scripture as though it was. You provided the words and your interpretation. We sometimes provide what we believe and then use commentators and scholars. Their God given talent is studying the ancient text and the history behind it. People are inspired by the Spirit to write but they write in terms that are relative to their culture. It's how scholars (good ones anyway) determine context.

It's no different today. Can anyone understand, say, the Reformers, without knowing something about their circumstances? Could I write something now and expect someone hundreds of years from now to understand it's meaning without knowing a little bit about the culture in the US from the 20th./21st. century? No. Does God expect us to understand HIS word if we divorce ourselves from understanding it from a literal POV? No.

It takes discipline and instruction from the Spirit. There's no problem with saying one is inspired by the Spirit, but to claim Divine inspiration the way you and some others do and to say some of us have not the eyes to see it, is sort of like what the Gnostics have done. You may say it lines up with scripture, but once it's investigated and understood in the manner I stated above, it doesn't.

If believing what you do about the "windows" passage we were discussing and relating it to something in Revelations works for you, that's great! But to teach it as though it was meant that way and must be taught as though it was doctrine, is what this is all about. Bible studying is both academic and personal. On a personal level, I have no problems. Maybe subjects like this are better suited in the Bible Study Forum.

Those with an interest in Apologetics will go on the offensive. It's the "nature" of apologetics.

No. Does God expect us to understand HIS word if we divorce ourselves from understanding it from a literal POV?
Which is a problem with some who want to remove the idea that the scriptures might actually BE meant in a very literal way in most cases. Not every single word of scripture is meant as allegory and parable or some vision of future events. Sometimes it just about the then and there and means exactly what it says...

If believing what you do about the "windows" passage we were discussing and relating it to something in Revelations works for you, that's great! I know a man who believes that animals used to talk because Eve didnt seem surprised when the serpent spoke to her.
Its ok if this friend wants to believe that, but I told him if he ever taught it as scriptural fact that I could no longer accept anything he presented as being worth listening to. Once that leaven has come into a teaching it seems to root its way all the way thru.
:)

Let us all remember:

Rom 7:21
...when I would do good, evil is present with me. KJV

The ones who said that they would obey, they were a stiff-necked and stubborn people.

The son who said he would go, never went. The other son repented, and went.

Rom 7:22-23
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. KJV

I hope we all can see this war in progress, preventing us from doing what we would.

I don't wish to "debate" with you. I don't wish to change your mind. It isn't my responsibility to do so. I have asked you to provide the "absurdities, the wrong conclusions, and delusions" and you have not done so.

I assume you are saying that what you term my "ramblings, fallacious conclusions, fantasy and daydreams" are "foolishness to you?"

  • 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Sure I have.
I gave the thoughts of real bible scholars in the matter.
You rejected those thoughts as you always do, which makes it not worth MY time presenting anything that they already did.

Interesting indeed.
Quite.

Oh please.
Dont even try to stroke your own ego so much as to equate your ramblings with the words of Paul.
