Orion said:Excellent information, jwu. I was hoping that someone more knowledgeable on this topic would chime in. And don't worry about what johnmuise said (the "you disgust me" line). It's the final attack when standing in the presence of overwhelming data. Insults. :-?

That's because Hovind is more about rhetorics than about actual content. Creationism could be true, but Hovind then still would be wrong about most things that he talks about - simply because he is utterly clueless about science in general. E.g. he asserts that because of the "conservation of angular momentum", all objects in the universe should be spinning in the same direction if the Big Bang were true. That is utterly wrong. The conservation of angular momentum only says that the sum of all angular momentums in the universe always remains the same. An increase of angular momentum of one object can be counterbalanced by a decrease elsewhere, and it also can take negative values (spin in the other direction). Anyone who ever played a game of billard should know that things don't always spin in the same direction, yet Hovind seems not to understand this. Or, even worse, he does understand this and just doesn't care that he is spreading falsehoods.Sorry i got confused for a sec, i thought this was a Christian forum and the way you said " don't cite hovind" brought me to the old saying " the Christian firing squad is in a circle", or "Christians like to shoot there wounded" i see this all the time, its like a lot of Christians are embarrassed by people like Hovind....then i remembered that this is a debate forum and people here opposing creation are not Christians so we are supposed to be scoffed at. 8-)
You didn't quite catch a good start, but you can't be blamed for that. Particularly Hovind can come across as very convincing. Most people who listened to his lectures and then visit messageboards to discuss what they heard there pack up and run away after their first few posts...so kudos to you for staying around!
johnmuise said:Hello, i would just love to share my knowledge, i am in defense of creation, ask me any question and i will answer it to the best of my ability, i need the practice because in a bout 20 days i am doing a debate here and i need to have all this fresh in my head
Can you prove which God that you believe in......THOR, Osiris, Re, Minerva, Medusa, Seth, Aquinas, Zeus?
How do you know that ZEUS did not create anything? Is your ONLY evidence the Bible, Quran, or Torah?
Which God, so that we know if your claims are correct
I can think of several....did I miss some sarcasm or something somewhere?johnmuise said:Find me one time when Christians did a great evil.
