Yes God does protect, but sometimes He does not intervene, and leaves it up to you if you can. And then sometimes stuff just happens, look at what Jesus said below, and if you don't understand KJV vernacular, try another translation. Jesus is saying that time and chance can happen to us all. Because what about the Holy Ghost filled people who get shot and die in a robbery, or the saved people who died in 9/11. So sometimes a intruder might come in your house and you might die, and then sometimes the intruder dies. You are to protect yourself and family. Jesus said that a true friend will lay down his life for the other. Did He or did He not ?
