Are you two talking about guns???

Are you two talking about guns???

Yeah we're talking about guns.

Have you ever shot a gun?

When I first met my ex wife, our very first date I took her shooting 22's lol.

Some may think that's weird but we had a good time. Lol

I guess some people who own guns get in trouble with them, but mine kept me out of trouble and probably contributed to making my marriage last as long as it did. Instead of hanging with my buddies or down at a bar, I was down in the man cave making bullets and tinkering.

In an effort to stay on topic let me say that, it'd been said that real friends will help you hide the bodies.

Lol. Now that's just humor boys and girls.

Yes, my life is a drama

Well wadda you expect?! Any one girlfriend is a handful. 100 of them and you gotta wonder if they're playing with a full deck!

I've always wondered that about Solomon. They say he was so wise...but took on 700 wives?!
:nono :confused2 :screwloose

Hi Edward,

Let's get serious for a moment.

I'm not against guns. If they're owned and kept in a responsible way, I think it might even be a good idea in this day and age.
I'd want to be sure they're kept away from kids and that respect is taught.

I agree that guns don't kill people - people kill people. Of course guns make it easier. It's easier to shoot someone than to stab him.
But if someone has the killing instinct in him, then he'll use whatever means he has available to him. Should we ban knives too?
I do ask how the Columbine type teens get their hands on a gun?? Maybe the parents should be held responsible??

For me personally, I'm turned off to the killing of animals. I associate having guns and rifles with killing animals. It's okay if you need them for food - we do need to eat to stay alive. But I'm not keen on killing animals for sport. The animal you kill desires to live - it could be a father, a mother, a grown child. Death is death. Every living thing desires to live. This makes me sad. And now they use arrows! It's unbelievable to me.

So there you have. That's how I feel about guns. They're okay. But only for defensive purposes.

Edward's friendship thread has turned into a gun thread.
Why am I not surprised?

I feel the same as you do. I've never been a trophy hunter or sport hunter, I've ate everything I've killed.

And the defensive part is a necessity nowadays. I had an attempted home invasion when I was still living in Colorado and by the grace of God, I didn't have to shoot him. It went like this, knock at the door, I answered it and some big stocky guy asked if he could use my cell phone because he was broke down.

My Spidey sense started tingling (lol) so I said no, and it was on. He attacked and tried to force his way in. We fought on the front porch, busted the screen door glass, and then we broke apart, which gave me opportunity to draw my pistol which I pointed at his face, expecting him to run...

He didn't. He looked at me for two or three seconds, then started towards me! (What kind of idiot advances towards a drawn 45?!)

That's when things went into slow motion. I didn't want to shoot him, and the cops frown on warning shots. But I reasoned, do I have time to fire a warning shot into the grass (while retreating into the house) and still have time to shoot him if he still kept coming? I figured I did.

So that's what I did. Fired a single shot into the grass beside the porch, while retreating. It worked. The sound of the shot made him run...and I began praising God that he did.

I've read that shooting someone affects you and changes you. I don't want that. I did everything right. Repelled the invasion and without shooting him. :)
