Detroit Lions are on the Threshold

Elijah, of course I live in Michigan. No one (except Vince :)) has been a Lions fan all these years if they weren't forced to be by virtue of where they live. We've been waiting for the NFL to give us a franchise for decades. Who would have known that we've had one all along. :shrug

If the Lions play like they did on Saturday in the playoffs, they will beat the 49er's. As for Tebow, well, they annihilated him and the Bronco's earlier this season.

Won my fantasy league this weekend!!!! Yippee!!!!:-)

The thought of the Packers resting their players and letting the lions win next weekend makes me cringe. I understand why they would do it since there is no benefit to them winning, but laying down like that still bothers me.

Lets hope they meet in the playoffs so we can get to see a real game between them. :yes

Here's a fist-pump, my fellow fantasy league champion! :thumbsup

No one by the Packers coaches and admin wants to see them rest players. I don't want to hear the excuses when... WHEN the Lions beat them down on the frozen tundra. If the unimaginable happens, I'd rather lose to all the Packers than beat the replacements.

Fear that team that dismantled the Chiefs who beat the Packers. Fear that team that destroyed the hot Chargers. Yeah, that's what I said. Fear THAT team. (I have to talk now while I can, before the Packers abuse the Lions as usual.)

If the Lions play like they did against the Chargers, they can handle the Packers this week and if they meet in the playoffs. :yes

You think you suffer. My favorite team has always been the Cardinals. And I've never lived in Chicago, St. Louis or Arizona, their homes through the years.

Yeah... that wasn't a touchdown by Young when it mattered. The Lions were robbed! This was a completely fraudulent win by the Packers. You know it, Nacho!!

Dear Mike,
I have never been a Lion's fan. But with my beloved Eagles eliminated, I might as well root for a team that has certainly earned the "most improved" award.

Bah! I'll give that to the 49ers.

We should all probably hold off comment or any rash decisions until the federal government issues all it's indictments of the referees in this game. I'm not looking for the death penalty or even life in prison for the obvious collusion among them; just banishment from officiating any and all NFL games in the future. Clearly, we can see that the referees were wearing green and yellow underwear during today's game. Additionally, they had each wagered a minimum of $10,000 each on the Packers. I think that was obvious to anyone watching.

Yikes. Try to be discrete about it, boys! :gah

Okay, well, we are licking our wounds from the final game of the season. Matthew Stafford passed for over 5000 yards this season :), we had our first winning season in a decade :), and we are heading into the playoffs while most teams are left out :-). This is a team that indeed is on the threshold, and with a solid off season, they could make a run at the Super bowl next year. They're defense is not nearly as bad as it looked against GB, and their offense is brilliant. So I believe they will have a respectable outing against the Saints on Saturday!

Go Lions!!

Less than 24 hours until the Lions play their first playoff game in 12 years, and I am PUMPED!! This is what some fans come to expect, but it's a whole new feeling for us. They are big-time underdogs, but upsets happen in the playoffs; quite often in recent years! :)

The defense if finally healthy with 2 of their strongest players set to suit-up who didn't play when the Saints and Lions played in the regular season. Others were out that game too, so it will be great to have their full roster deployed. :yes

Stafford is one of 3 quarterbacks to EVER pass for 5,000 yards in a season, and Kevin Smith is healthy to give them some running balance.

Come on, Lions!! Let's do this thing!!!!! :thumbsup

How can someone pull for the Lions when there are people like Tim Tebow and Jim Harbaugh to pull for?

Jim Harbaugh is an arrogant, "It's all about me." guy who wants the spotlight. I'm embarrassed that he's a Michigan man.

Oh, well, for the Lions. They were leading at halftime, but things spun out of control. We'll have a better finish next year. :thumbsup

God news, Mike! My Philadelphia Eagles and your Detroit Lions can still face each other at the Super Bowl!

All they have to do is buy tickets on opposite sides of the stadium.

I don't know that much about Jim Harbaugh. He has certainly turned the 49ers around.

Well, the first weekend of the NFL playoffs is almost complete and the 49ers are still in the race.

I suppose some wise apple will want to point out that the 49ers didn’t have to play this weekend.

Go, Tim Tebow!

Pretty awesome coincidence, his favourite verse is John 3:16, and he throws 316 yards with a 31.6 yard average per completion

Back to topic!!!

We have a lot of Lions off-season deals to talk endlessly about over the next six 8 months until their first game of the 2012 season.

Lions trades
Lions draft
Lions re-signings
Lions free agent signings

I'm sure everyone will LOVE that! :lol

Yes, I look forward to spending the next eight months talking about the Detroit Lions. Maybe someone here in Reno will buy them and I can go watch them.
