Did Jesus expect God to save him?

Please show me where the Scriptures say that Jesus desired to be saved from His destiny of saving mankind.

Mark 14:35-37 (King James Version)

35And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

36And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Matthew 26 (King James Version)

42He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Luke 22:41-43 (King James Version)

41And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

42Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

43And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

Is Christ God or Mediator?

Bodhitharta... please observe the bolded text....

Luke 22:41-43 (King James Version)

41And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

42Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Yes, Jesus did ask that if possible He be spared from what was to come. However, He also said that His will not be done, but GOD's. Jesus accepted whatever God's will was to be for Him.

Jesus....was God's one and ONLY son. God's divine grace in human flesh....

So you agree that Jesus expected to be saved, right?

I do not see where it says Jesus asked to be "saved" from His freely chosen fate... In the very same sentence, He gives Himself up to the Father's Will. That's not how you ask for something from someone, if you are intent on getting your way.

Both.

No, you miss the point. Jesus asked to be spared, but EXPECTED GOD's WILL TO BE DONE. For as I showed you in the bolded text of my post, Jesus said not my will but thine be done.

at this point Jesus was feeling abandoned by God and he had all of man's sin put on him. His point was that he was suffering but knew that he needed to die

You don't believe that Jesus was being sincere? If Jesus wasn't being sincere or not really serious about wanting to be SAVED, then why yell out "MY GOD MY GOD, Why has thou forsaken me?"

If you feel abandoned wouldn't that mean you really believed you would not be abandoned?

If Jesus "is" God how could he feel abandoned by God? God is ONE!

Where did I ever say I believed Jesus to be anything but sincere? Bohitharta....forgive me...but the more you speak on this topic the more I cannot help but feel your intentions are to slander Jesus, Christianity, as well as the Bible. I understand you do not share my beliefs or those of others here, but perhaps you might want to revisit the rules and terms of service for this forum?

I think Bodhi is simply .... :confused

This has been discussed umpteen times and is only going in circular arguments with different people. Perhaps Bodhi is just looking for someone to admit that Jesus expected God to save Him !

Wouldn't that be the truth since that is what he asked God to do? This is important because people want to ignore parts of the bible they don't like. This is about honesty.

I have asked "did Jesus want the Cup taken from him" and I get answers like "No, Jesus was just showing his humanity" totally avoiding the truth, this type of honesty stifles a persons ability and grieves The Holy Spirit.

The truth is something I have shown you and even in bold text. Yet it is something you seem to want to ignore. For I have shown you scripture that states Jesus sought GOD'S WILL, not His own. Yes, He asked to be spared, BUT ONLY IF IT WAS GOD'S WILL FOR HIM TO BE SO.

Should these actions persist and you continue to strive to disprove Christianity, this thread will be closed. I ask you again....read the TOS. Thank you.

So you are indeed admitting that you are looking for someone to admit that Jesus expected God to save Him. To YOU, that is the only truth , isn't it ? .... Whatever that does not agree with YOUR preconceived interpretations and ideas isn't the truth , is that what you are saying ?

If you cannot and will not accept this as the truth, then perhaps you are just not in this forum with sincere motives. It is becoming more and more transparent that you are here only with ulterior motives to poke holes into Christianity. You are expecting us to agree with your distorted understanding of the Bible instead of conforming to the truths that have been presented to you by Bible-believers here.

Did Jesus believe psalm 91 or not?

9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
