Rarthyr said:So if I was to say proudly out loud "I have the power of the Holy Spirit!" I would be justified in doing so?
Rarthyr said:I was just wondering because I have said this and think I might be blaspheming the Holy Spirit as an online bible dictionary says blasphemy can be "claiming the attributes of a deity" so now I am very very worried...

What do you mean by this? Christianity is not mental torture. It is rather blessing. If you are new, I dont think you are experiencing blessing and joy yet. It takes time. Start out with reading New Testament and strive to practice everything you are learning.
May God bless you as you learn and practice your faith in Jesus.

glorydaz said:Actually, it does not take time to experience blessings and joy. I'm betting you know that already, Rarthyr, with your excitement about having the Holy Spirit in your heart.
Don't strive....we only strive to enter into the kingdom and then you can rest in the Lord, knowing He will lead and guide you where He wants you to be. You asked a good question and you certainly don't need to hear condemnation.
Romans 15:13
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. :amen
Rarthyr said:Myself. I have had enough of this mental torture I'm going to make something up , Jesus forgives all sins if you believe in him for nothing is impossible with God and I will be forgiven and go to Heaven because I have faith. I am going to believe that even if it is a lie. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH.
Rarthyr said:I'm afraid of hell and I think I have blasphemed the Holy Spirit, I don't want to go to hell. I want Jesus to save me from it even if I have blasphemed the Holy Spirit.
Well there is one thing I have noticed, every time this blasphemy is mentioned the terminology is he who blasphemes AGAINST the Holy Spirit what is the ancient biblical meaning for blaspheming or speaking against?
Does anyone know? Would claiming to have power of the Holy Spirit be blasphemy AGAINST or just blasphemy
