do state troopers often do this?

so, I was making a turn onto a road in my small, southern town. For whatever reason, a state trooper was in the other lane. He turned around, followed me for about a block, then made a turn onto a side street and that was that.

What gives, you think?

kidding a bit here as I really don't know what he was doing but, wonder who he followed once he left you? :)
Had he followed you long enough to call in and check you out, I might go with that but otherwise, probably nothing.

It's possible, Christ_empowered , that the officer had heard a report about a car similar to yours (make, model, and/or color) and did a simple run of your license plate. Once he knew it wasn't the car in question, he drove off.

I wouldn't worry about it. The majority of officers are truly trying to keep peace and keep everyone safe. They have no intention to harass or bother.

Good to see that it does happen within their own.
I don't think a lot of the problems are with the state patrol, it seems to be more with the city and county police in certain areas. I don't know if that is do to better training or to better hiring policies.

I think they probably only show the best scenarios on a reality show, but my dh likes to watch the 'Alaska State Troopers'. Alaska has major problems with alcohol and drug abuse, radicals, and everyone owns a gun. But those guys are so professional and they don't intimidate people. They treat people like they are human beings. They are really impressive.
I did hear just recently about one losing his life though and that is tragic.

Probably was just turning around and going the same way you were until they turned off and went there way. They just happened to turn around as you were driving. Ive had same thing a couple times.

This is by far the most likely scenario. Who hasn't turned around on a road to go back to a road they passed?

Indeed and Amen!

Out here in LA we get that too much. Only problem is they ALL do it in my city. One time I was almost hit by a speeding cop with no sirens on. I stood in the middle of the cross walk right in front of him and gave him the for shame finger expression. :approve
