Do they make good movies anymore??

Nice Can you be a bit more specific?
:lol that's gonna be hardYou know one thing? Good is not always good. Decent is not always decent. We all try to justify whatever we do using our own sense of judgement. That good movie, that perfect choice is that that glorifies HIM (like most of us here would always say): invite Jesus to that movie. Even a good movie can be a god to some. I'm glad soccer isn't;)

I'm not sure how Jesus would view my favourite movie. I think he might look at it as a fantastic view on how disillusioned and desenstized we have become that we will go to increasingly desperate lengths to feel alive.

:lolJEsus should like what I like.

Why doesn't everyone just tell me movies that they personally think are good and if I don't like it I'll turn it off. ;)

Beyond Borders, Machine Gun Preacher, Ben Hur, Tin Tin are all great movies. Some new, some not... First two have violence, but hardly puts it in any good light.

Machine Gun Preacher 'eh? That sounds quite interesting...
Thanks for the reply. I will have to watch those. I've seen about half of Ben Hur and I really liked it.

My plan for tonight is to watch the first Star Wars.

MGP took about 6 months to get to DVD. I saw it in theaters and then waited and waited for its release to show others. Redbox it.

Flywheel
Facing the Giants
Fireproof
Courageous

These four are all made by pretty much the same people and they are not the only movies I like--not by far! But if you want a morally good movie that also promotes morals, I definitely recommend these.

I've been wanting to watch the Star Wars original trilogy again lately.

Hannah:

How was Star Wars? did you ever see the original Star Trek episodes? the characters look so dated now! :)

Blessings.

I loved Fireproof!! So good, and Facing The Giants too. I haven't' seen those other two yet. I will watch them for sure.

It's been too long since I've seen the original Star Wars. It's about time. :)

I had to track down a VCR last night and it was too late to start it by then. Tonight though it will happen! Yes, I have seen the original Star Trek episodes. They do look outdated, but for the time it was great! I still enjoy Star Trek.

Yes, some of those first episodes are nearer 50 than 40 years old, what with William Shatner as Captain Kirk (then, so young-looking) and Leonard Nimoy as Mr Spock with his ears, and Nichelle Nichols as Lt. Uhura with her typical 60s high hemmed skirt, and the rest of the team. Kind of a classic, really.

Blessings.

Of the newer movies I love the Ice Age series.
But my favorites are Cary Grant old comidies : Arsenic and Old Lace, also with Peter Lorrie and Raymond Burr; and Bringing up Baby also with Cathryn Hepburn.
I believe that these have had color added.

Carolyn: I guess the oldies were made in a more innocent age, when Hollywood stars thought twice before taking their clothes off, on screen. I don't watch a lot of films, to be honest, though some of the historical movies are interesting.

Do they make good movies anymore? I don't even want to watch movies that come out because they are awful most of the time. Anyone have good reviews for me?

I would ask a similar question: Do they write good novels anymore? I don't read novels anymore, but when I did, the only ones I wanted to read were classics.
