I agree with most all you said, I think. But I'm only wondering about this part... Are you saying that since this was not just a suggestion, that we are to use the force of secular law to force people to live as if they were disciples? (Secular law can only force behavior under threat of punishment, it can't change a heart.) In this case using a secular court decision to allow employers to deny otherwise available benefits to employees because they do not agree with those benefits? I'm not so sure this was the kind of thing Jesus had in mind when he gave that command.
Just to avoid confusion, I'm not supporting abortion as a form of birth control. Far from it. On the surface I want to cheer the court's decision. I just question if this is really the way God wants things done, or if God would prefer the person considering having the abortion would have a change of heart rather than a change of mind that was forced on them by their secular employer denying benefits that are otherwise mandated by law to everyone else (whether or not I personally like that particular law). I just don't know if this is what Jesus meant when he said we are to make disciples.
