I'm just wondering what others beliefs are regarding God's judgement and salvation. Based on the fact that there are so many discussions and questions in regard to the Christian doctrine, it is obviously a very complex idea to grasp. Some of the explanations I read are hard for me, as an educated person, to understand. What I'm wondering is how God judges people in the end. For instance, what about individuals who honestly want to do right by God and try to be a moral person, but aren't quite smart enough to grasp the idea of Christianity. I'm not talking about people with learning disabilities or handicapped individuals, just someone who wants to understand but just can't follow the ideas of the trinity, original sin, sacrifice, etc. Does God punish these people for not understanding or does he look at their heart and their intentions. Any thoughts?

A person who acts with pure intention to do what they feel God wants, is and should be IMO saved by the grace of God.

Ignorance of the law no excuse. I feel understanding what God wants from us is less complicated then middle school math or some Children's literature like Harry Potter. Look at all the childrens bibles that dumb it down for people. all you have to do to be saved by God is DESIRE for him to come into your life, your heart and your mind and then DESIRE to do the things he puts on your heart, doing them to the best of your ability putting him 1st. If you are a VERY intelligent person this just means more work for you, and you should be pleased in your ability to DO more. I think God looks at poverty in Africa, knows the have simple minds, and so long as they Desire that relationship with Him above their won personal wants, they will be in Heaven when the pass on.
