Let's talk. After all, I'm sure very few Dog owners have a hard time talking about the canine companions.

I have 2 dogs. One's a Dalmatian/Labrador mix. Her name is Porcia (poor-sha). She is mostly black with white patches that have black spots. She looks like a lab but is built like a dalmatian. The other one's named Lily. She is a Jack Russel/Pug mix. She is tan and has a curly tail with a JR nose.

I don't know about anyone else, but my babies rule the house.....spoiled rotten. I have four dogs and all four of them together don't weigh up to a good dog. Sweet tee or AKA Te Te/milk queen is a 3 lb. white teacup chihuahua, and she's 10 years old. I have her son he's 8 yrs. old, his name is Binki Boo or AKA Boo Man Fu or Little Man. He's 2 1/2 lbs. black and white and his eyes look out to the side like a goldfish, or Marty Felmans. I have Te Te's grand daughter/Binki Boo's daughter and she's 3 yrs. old white like her grandmother, and she weighs 2 1/4 lbs. and her name is Zoe or AKA Zoeybean. Then my spiritual daughter got me Ko Ko or AKA Ko Ko Bean, (like I needed another armpit baby) she's chocolate with a white 5 pointed star on her chest, she'sweighs 3 1/2 lbs. and 4 yrs. old and I can't even walk into the bathroom without her screaming her head off cause she can't see me. And these little boogers can hog a king size bed like you can't believe. You'd think they were great danes the way they rule the bed, but in the winter time, they're great little hot water bottles.....warm up the bed and the body on cold nights. So with all four of them together it weighs up to about a 10 lb. dog. And I have 3 very large cages for my sugar gliders/babies.....about 21 of them, but they only weigh about 3-5 oz. each. Around here they go for $200.00 each, so I have a small fortune in these cute little flying squirrel/australlian possums. They have their own room with cages, so when it's play time, I'm covered with these little cuties looking for treats in my pockets, sniffing in my ears, pulling my hair, and running up and down my body jumping and flying across the room......looks like a flying squirrel circus. They're going to hate me tomorrow, cause I'm separating the girls from the boys. So that puts about 10 in each 8' cage. The cages are 8'X36"X24" with swings/latters/wrens wicker nest/balls and they really love the time out to play, then I feed them and then of course they all run back into the cages to eat! LOL But that's about it for me.....like that was'nt enough.

Wow Carol. I thought I had a zoo! We have two dogs and two birds (parakeets/budgies). In the past several years we've had (combined before we got married and after) 2 turtles, 1 cat, 2 dogs, 2 budgies, and 15-20 fish. Dogs are the easiest by far. My Lily, however, is about 11 pounds and she knows how to steal all the covers from us, and she can have a tendency to kick us out of bed.

Dang Heather you made me remember the stupid fish I have!! I have a 30 gal. tank in my face full of fish, I must have been trying to forget them. Heather all were lacking is a partridge in a pear tree girl.... Hey but were cool 8-) Wow your dog weighs the same with mine all put together.
Got to go I just got in a prayer request for my spiritual grandson he's in the hospital with a dropped lung and he has cronic asthma and he's 10 yrs. old Please everyone pray and I got to get this out to the 65,00 prayer warriors around the world with Gails and I ministries. GBU

Is he doing any better Carol? I didn't get on here yesterday, but I just sent up a quick prayer for him.

I have always loved dogs.

My aim was to get a boxer or a pit bull because they are some of the most lovable and loyal dogs. I had a friend who rescues them from dog fighters and breeders on the look out for one.

Then I went jogging one day and this little girl came walking up to me and rolled over on her belly with that typical expression that says "Love me please :("

next image is her on her way to get a haircut. She has a look like she knows something fishy is going on :)

I took her home and showed her to my girlfriend, with an intent of finding her a good home if we could not find the owner (she was flea covered, no collar, no hair cut in ages, and wondering around a good road to get hit by a car)

Of course, Anna Belle as we named her, had other plans and let us know she was here to stay, and I haven't regretted keeping her since. She is a Jack Russel and I know understand why the owners of JRTs are so loyal to the breed. They are like little children with lots of personality.

It wasn't 2 weeks later when we came across a pit bull that had broken her chain and was wondering around a bad neighborhood. She wasn't even a year old and had already had a batch of puppies, and was in heat again. From the signs we could see, she was an obvious breeding dog, and from being in a neighborhood that was known for illegal dog fighting, more than likely she was breeding fighting dogs.

We loaded her in the car and got her to the vet and eventually to my friend I mentioned who takes in pit bulls (if they go to the animal shelter they are automatically put down and no attempt is made for finding a home). It was hard to not take her in because I love pit bulls, but I couldn't handle more than one animal. I am still happy to have gotten Anna and don't regret keeping her.

Hey Heather, he's improving slowly, they have him on oxygen, steriods, and breathing treaments. He's just in a lot of pain because of the one lung. But he's in one of the best childrens hospitals in Charlotte. He's in there so often, that they all know him by name, and they set him up pretty good when he stays there. They have an indoor rubber matted playground that is huge and all the wheelchairs are race cars, and they have pinball machines, bowling pin games, it's like being at Chuckie Cheese's, except they have a library too, huge snack room with mini theater, I mean these kids hate to go home. But it makes an invoirment they love to be in and therefore recovery is faster. The rooms have a kitchen w/microwave/frig/sinks/dishes, and the bathroom has these big tubs the kids who can, can take bubble baths. there are builtin beds/couches for the parents w/drawer spaces enough for the whole family, Televisons w/cable and DVD/VHS players with videos/DVD'S from the hospital library they can check out......so it's pretty sweet set-up for the family and kids. Kind of takes the stress off from being in the hospital under those kind of circumstances, and makes it alittle more pleasurable for the entire family. Thanks for your prayers for Jaquan, please continue to keep him in your prayers everyone.....thanks Heather for praying for him....he's such a sweet child and so full of love and Jesus. GBU

Cute dog, Vault. How do you have her trimmed? Do you just have them trim her coat shorter than it is?

In the summer time I keep her short, but for this winter I think I will let her coat grow back out.

She is a rough coat JRT and her hair starting from right be hind her head running all the way back to her tail will grow out to 4" to 5" (just on the top of the back) while the rest stays under an inch, so she can get look a little silly if left completely untrimmed. The hair on her back is really thick and course as well.

In fact when I found her last year we said she looked like a little brown dog was in a skunk costume without the head. Her hair on her neck line also grows perpendicular and sticks straight out almost like a peacock.

The black one is Porcia (Poor-sha) and the tan one is Lily.

I still have my chihuahua, she'll be 8 this year; We got her when she was 3 months old. Can you tell she's a fatty? :-D

Hey Destiny, Your little chichihuahua/chilupas (that's what we call them) is a cute little girl. My little man Binki Boo said Mom can you bring her home? LOL How much does she weigh? Do you have problems with her sugar? I don't have a problem with TeTe, KoKo, or Zoe but Binki Boo his sugar drops about every few months, got to keep the nutra stat or clear syrup around for him or he seizures up on me....but he usually gives me the heads up when he does. He'll start mewing or screaming to touch, getting skin sensitive, gums/tongue pale, stiffening up, but the nutra stat or sugar water or clear syrup bring him out of it.
Now my husband chihuahua "Laycee" AKA Red Neck her sugar will drop when she's been pregnant in the past and my husband is gone, she can't handle being away from him when she was pregnant for some reason. We let her have one litter (two pups) Mini and Baby. We lost Mini when she was two, her sugar dropped in her sleep while in her basket under me/under the bed, and the next morning when I did roll call for breakfast, she didn't come. I pulled her basket out and said come on sleepy head come eat, and she wouldn't move and when I went to rub her head to wake her up, she had past. But back to Laycee my hubby works at night, and it seem like as soon as he went out the door, she started contractions. She waited all night, and he comes home about 8 am and he'll sit around a couple of hours to whine down, she got up in his arm as soon as he walked through the door, and I told him I thought she's in labor, and of course she seem find to him. Well he went to bed, and about a hour later he's pounding on the wall and I go in there and Red Neck had her two pups in his armpit. There was blood everywhere, all over him, the bed, the sheets, gosh what a mess! LOL

Carol.. my chihuahua is a whopping 10 pounder.. shes a big one. As far as I know she is full blooded, we got her from a breeder, but she is definitely bigger than the tea-cup and smaller bread ones. As far as I know we don't have any problems with her sugar.. although I believe she is showing signs of arthritis. Last winter she had problems with either her bones or joints and I feel pretty sure that's what it was.
Sounds like you have an abundance of dogs! I think the name "binky boo" is cute but my husband definitely would draw the line on that one :-D. I am sorry about Mini, I know how bad it hurts to lose one of our animal kids. The neighbors dog killed our other chihuahua and it was a very sad time for us.

   Well, that's what he gets for being her favorite! That is hilarious.

Oh I am so sorry about your dogbaby.....I couldn't have handled that....your a strong woman. That would have broke me to pieces.....these are my dogbabies. I had a neighbors dogs put that fear in me about my little ones, and my granddaughter. I had a neighbor whose dogs she would let loose and they would run up on me and pin my back up against the truck. And I had to keep calling the police on her, after many attempts of failed polite communication for months. I couldn't let my granddaughter play outside for fear of them attacking her, they would crap in everyone's yard, and personally a yard/flower/gardening person I didn't take that well.....especially stepping in big ole piles of dog poop that squish up over your shoes, and you're wearing flip flops.....not good to say the least. But her big dogs got after my little bitty dogs, and I had to drop their leashes and I picked up the shovel and spanked banged her dog on the butt as hard as I could, and ready to get the other one when she started screaming at me. I told her if you could managed your dogs they wouldn't be in my yard and I'm not going to let your dogs jump on mine. That I'm a home owner and she's a renter and if she didn't want to abided by the city orderances that maybe she should move. I told her to keep her dogs out of my yard, and let them crap in her yard, I was tired of stepping in their crap. After asking her politely by knocking on her door and being a polite neighbor three times, to then afterwards having to call the police three times for the same thing, for months her dogs getting after me and my dogs, her dogs even went after the police to the point they pulled their guns and told her get your dogs under control or we'll shoot them if they attack us, to her still continueing to allow her dogs to wander the neighborhood without supervision, getting after people to the point that now I've got the shovel and let me dare have to defend myself, or your dogs are going to get it. I told her let them get after me again and I wouldn't be so polite as to wacked them on their butts, it would be their heads the next time. The next morning I go out with my babies and there's like three "big" piles of poop in my front yard, I look over to my neighbor I sing in the choir with and there's about the same in hers, and of course we know the old daily familiar land marks her dogs leave in everyones yard. So I got my shovel and scooped everyone of them up and walked over to her house and chucked them at her front door step. She opened the door and I told her from now on, every pile of your dogs poop I find in my yard this is where they'll end up, on your door step. Well that ended that! I wished I had done that in the first place, but it's amazing that sometimes you just can't be neighborly with some people, they look at it as a weakness or something. Then after that our city guy came over to our neighbors and I walked over to say hey and he heard this dog whining and he asked me did I hear that? and I said yeah but I didn't know where it came from and so we walked in the direction he thought he heard it come from and this same neighbor had her dogs out in the winter time, with no dog house and this poor dog's fur is frozen to the ground, (like those herding sheep dog) and it can't get up cause it's stuck to the ground. He turned around and asked me is this that woman's dogs that you've been calling in about in the past? I said yes sir, but she's been keeping them out of my yard lately, and he said I can see why....then when he seen they had no dog houses to get in from the cold on, he went livid, the next thing I know, she's moving and got a $500.00 fine for doing that to her dogs. You would figure someone who worked at the hospital would have more compassion and respect for others including her dogs than that. Kind of scarey to think she was in contact with people in need...there just was no consideration in her or her teenage son. When they first moved in my daughter went over one time and asked could you please put your dogs on a leash so I can get in my car with my baby without your dogs getting after me? And he full swing slammed the door in her face, after telling her to you know.... ___off (name for female dog), and later we learned through months of rediculous endless efforts to communicate where he learned that from. So I hope you didn't have to go through a bunch of stupid stuff like that with your neighbor/dog with your dogbaby....the loss is enough to suffer. I was trying to avoid that with a neighbor that seem bound and determend to make me suffer that.

Got to go it's my husband and mine and our daughters and son in laws wedding anniversay today. They got married the same day as us....silly gooses! They said all the years had been good to us and they wanted to get married the same day to carry the torch along with us and carry it on after us. I hope in Christ they have as many years as us to love one another. Talk later Destiny, GBU girl.

Kudos HIM,
Carol <><
