Elevation church?

Iā€™m trying to be less judgmental of church leaders especially big time ones. A lot of people love elevation new spring etc. I sayā€¦

Obviously scripture tells us to check everything we are taught against the Bible. Not just elevation of course. Every church ā›Ŗļø every pastor.

I kind of like john MacArthur. Truth? He preaches against the mental health industry and heā€™s Calvinist soā€¦

Yeah. Lol šŸ˜† but other modern Calvinist ministers have been a let downā€¦piper sproul sproul jrā€¦.

And Iā€™m not dogmatic enough to stand by my man lol šŸ˜†. MacArthur s anti charismatic campaign was a bit much for me. Iā€™m not into tongues but I think God still heals and I believe in a very active very merciful Godā€¦

The God who sent Jesus Christ for me not just my sinsā€¦

And I learned that from Pentecostal people. So thereā€™s thatā€¦

Sorry to ramble. I also find the old school Quakers really inspiring. Anti slavery worked towards womenā€™s rights developed humane treatment for mentally distressed peopleā€¦

I skim chip Ingram material sometimes in a cousinā€™s advice. Well written thoughtful and makes me want to do and be better the biblical wayā€¦

Hi I would offer I have had many what I would call good preachers, My Pastor John Duckhorn and on radio or cassette tapes John McArthur one of the first along with Chuck Swindoll the late night milk of the word. . helped me sleep.

It is where we must be careful how we hear or say we hear the thoughts of another not seen (God)

God has made them known as it is written .He warns of of false apostles false prophets those who say we do need dying mankind to teach us Christ. . . calling them antichrists" another teaching authority" other than . . .as it is written. God's living abiding word .

To anoint is to teach. . the promised work of the comforter Christ who brings to our memory the previous thing he has taught (John 14) yoked with his love we can learn .

1 John 2:26-27 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

He promises if he has begun that good teaching work in us he will continue till our last day under the sun (Phil 1:6) .I am a slow learner . He is the waiting father calling his hungry children home .eat the fattened cow, drink be merry .

An example of the work of the antichrists (many) seduced by the antichrist (singular) Satan. Antichrists the many who were there at that time period It would be using Peter as a warning not to looks to the things seen those of dying men and not the unseen eternal things of God.Peter coming from the religion of the Pharisees with Sadaucesss . . .they sought after a sign before they would believe .I think that could be simular to the Pentecostals sign seekers rather than prophecy the tongue of God . What we see and what we don't see as that revealed by the word of God must be mixed. . . . the tempoal with the eternal understanding .In the end God must do the teaching. . we plant and water

Peter was seduced by the anti christ Satan falsely prophesying rebuking the Lord preventing the Son of man, Jesus from doing the will of God .

God in return through his prophet, apostle Jesus rebuked the spirit of lies . In effect saying " get behind me" , walk by faith the unseen things of God not after dying Peter seen .

Peter was forgiven of his blasphemy against the son on man, Jesus . . . it could never be forgiven against our Holy Father in heaven the one who has power to forgive He used Peter over and over as a serial denier to teach us how we can hear the voice of His prophecy as it is written according to the us that remain in Christ those that look to signs to wonder or marvel after . I would be careful how we hear who we hear .

Remember the sign with all power to deceive lying wonders king is still bringing them even today God continues to send the strong delusion. Trust the tongue of God as it is written . he warns of them that fall back slain in the spirit not to mock His word .

Study the doctrine of tongues. Its foundation is in the old testament .Not what do men say as the lord spoke to Peter make it more personal if possible.

Mathew 16: 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Believer's can error. False prophets add to as it is written (sola scriptura) God send the strong delusion

What does that verse have to do with it? Does not our father give all a thirst for hearing the good news like water to a thirsty soul there are a few examples of that in action. One when John was in jail and had doubt Jesus sent him back a cold glass of the water of the word it washed away his doubts .
