Hey All,
I have two Elevation churches in my area. I have never been to one. I found this info that explains why they are not considered to be fundamentally sound:
"Elevation Church withdrew from the Southern Baptist Convention Monday, June 26, 2023. Elevation Church has shed its decades-long affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention nearly two weeks after the convention upheld earlier decisions to expel churches with women pastors."
"Elevation Church's Steven Furtick was rebuked for teaching “God broke his own law” and inferring the ancient heresy of Modalism, a belief that God changes forms (or modes) between Father, Son and Holy Spirit."
Female pastors are a social argument. This is something the Southern Baptist said goes against their interpretation of biblical stance on women teachers being set over a man.
The other item is the denial of the fundamental fact that God does not change. Therefore He does not break His own law. If God broke His law, why should I keep His law?
Now to be fair, those quotes are of the Internet. So take them for what they are worth.
Keep walking everybody.
May God Bless,
Taz
