End of Apostles and Prophets?

in contrast (to what follows) , the gentiles, the whole world, in the last days not just get the mark of the beast, but worship the beast and do not repent of worshiping demons, according to Revelation.
however, the gentiles in Yeshua's day, could see true righteous behavior in the Jews who lived right with Yhwh,
and gentiles too were considered righteous if they obeyed Yhwh's commandments likewise.
they had the Jews to instruct them, and the Torah was read every Sabbath, and they not only might be acquainted with it, but if righteous they diligently lived accordingly, and it was recognized in their daily life.
if they broke the law, that was recognized also. (as unrighteousness).

(no specific references; this is the overall view acquired from over 30 years of gracious revelation in Christ Jesus, including in and from by His Grace and His Instruction specific and general and avid reading and study of Yhwh's Word and about His people.)

Thank you for your post.

Could you share some of the righteous behavior that we as Gentiles would have been instructed to do by Paul.

Thanks JLB

You have hit on a core meaning. In fact 2 Cor 12:12 (ESV) says one of the signs of a true apostle is signs, wonders and mighty works.

2 Cor 8:23 (ESV) translates apostolos as 'messengers' (which Arndt & Gingrich's Greek lexicon gives as a legitimate meaning) and A&G give the meaning in this verse as 'missionary' (p. 99). Epaphroditus was a messenger (apostle) of the Philippians (Phil 2:25 ESV ).

I'm of the view that there have been many apostles since the time of the first century (and they have been missionaries (even pioneering missionaries) and pioneering church planters. They are the 'sent ones', the messengers, the delegates, envoys for us.

I agree with your last paragraph. They seem to me to be the missionaries that are called to bring the Gospel and establish new churches there.

what Yeshua said is what is important. for Jews and for gentiles.
most all the churches have gone astray after the apostle Paul, and the other apostles, departed(went to sleep) ,
from even this simple and vital (necessary) direction of Yeshua >>
following
“It is necessary that the Son of Man proceed to an ordeal of suffering, ... ...
Mark 8:32-38 The Message
32-33 But Peter grabbed him in protest. Turning and seeing his disciples wavering, wondering what to believe, Jesus confronted Peter. “Peter, get out of my way! Satan, get lost! You have no idea how God works.”
34-37 Calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? What could you ever trade your soul for?
38 “If any of you are embarrassed over me and the way I’m leading you when you get around your fickle and unfocused friends, know that you’ll be an even greater embarrassment to the Son of Man when he arrives in all the splendor of God, his Father, with an army of the holy angels.”

2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
2Co 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses [Torah] is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2Co 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Torah was/is read in the Jewish synagogue every Saturday Shabot. It was not read every Sabbath in the Christian assemblies according to any scripture that I have read.

Would you like to discuss this in a separate thread? It would derail this one.

Great post. PM me if you start the thread.

Back to the prophets.
I did not supply a scripture on an earlier post.
I Corinthians 12:13
Jew and Gentile alike are mentioned in being in the body and receiving spiritual gifts.

I Corinthians 12:16
Because we think a certain way we are not to exclude a differently thinking person (differently gifted person).

I Corinthians 14:24
This has a group prophesy.
I Corinthians 14:26 has a diversity of gifts edifying.
I Corinthians 14: 29 Has several prophets probably judge each other.

This is all information given to Gentiles later on after pentecost.
