As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

In the bold where it means of equal weight, the pastor says that we should not let the calling of Jesus out weight the way of our life (what we speak) nor should it be the other way around, but to have them both be equal. This confused me thinking that shouldn't the calling of Jesus out weight the way we live our lives?

Therefore, as I meditated on this, the Holy Spirit said it this way. One should not out weight the other because a person called by Jesus is to live out his calling WHILE watching his words. Is this correct? The video link is here and the time stamp is 29:14.

While on this topic, have you guys heard of the "Word of Faith movement"? I actually believed in that but apparently, that is not biblical, or so people say, especially on YouTube. There are a lot of people putting down Joyce Meyer or Joel Osteen. Now, I cannot say I have watched a lot or all of their teachings or read their books, but one thing I can agree on is that they do teach this whether they reference the bible or not. We have just discussed the word of mouth and even remember reading Hung by your Tongue back in 2004/2005. Are they correct? What are your guy's opinion(s)?

For example. Joyce Meyer states that she sins no more. Could that not be thought of as using her mouth to speak what she wants to be done as Edward stated in his post with saying when I am feeling tired in the morning or not, not to complain but think positively and thank God?

I forget which chapter and verse say in the book of James that whoever confesses that they do not sin, is a liar. However, would that contradict what Matthew 12:37 says?
The word of fath in what Jesus accomplished is good.

Faith in the faith of humans can drift toward faith in our carnal works.
I do not want a war here. Abraham believed God.
Sorting this out gets tough. Sweet in mouth - bitter in belly.

Ok Edward I missed the start of this thread. I was too busy thinking of sawmill things.

You think I am one of those who must be of another camp. I will try and not cause confusion. I find it interesting to find the video in the OP. Since it is in the OP I may refer to it later.

I just think we are bi-polar. The physical person we are has to be continually crucified, and the new creation has to be built up. Now if what I just said can not be supported by scripture, then it is just my thoughts and should be dismissed.

Romans 7:25 kjv
25. I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

The dominion of sin in our life is destroyed, but from time to time we still sin. That sin should leave us in a wretched thought condition, and not ( oh well we are just human ).

We are more than just human, if we are in Christ and we have accepted in his quickening spirit.

Side notes cause all sorts of problems. The book of Job has all sorts of side notes. The book just happens to tell us which comments are good and which are bad.

I will shut up for now. The posts are wide open and I am behind.

And you're right. And as we finish our days here on earth, we are tasked to do quite a few things while walking with God before we either go to be with Him or He shows up and transforms us in the twinkling of an eye.
Spread the gospel, heal people, love everyone, cast out spirits, study and show ourselves approved and learning to develop our spirit through feeding it God's words and supplications...and to be led by our spirit, which is in direct contact with God. This means overcome the flesh. Our spirit must dominate. And when the spirit and the flesh fight internally, the one that you feed the most will be the victor.

If you consciously try to drown your carnal mind with God's words (both, Logos and Rhema's), that...slowly, the carnal mind will come nto agreement with the dominant spirit because as we well know from scripture (LOL), that evil spirits have to stand down in the presence of the Lord, and so the carnal mind.

And I *think* that when the two agree (Gospel of Thomas)

Gospel of Thomas 48
(48) Jesus said, "If two make peace with each other in this one house, they will say to the mountain, 'Move Away,' and it will move away.".../

If the two (Spirit and soul, Carnal mind-will & emotions) make peace with each other, then they can speak to the mountain and it will be gone. The spirit must be dominant, with the flesh mind and emotions in agreement but the spirit leads the flesh.

Hope nobody gets upset by my posting a non-canon verse from Thomas, but let's face it, almost this exact phrase is in the canon. So I posted it.

I do like the Gospel of Thomas and I haven't found any contradictions in it vs scripture, but does give new insight so is worthy of consideration in my mind.

James 3:8 kjv
8. But the tongue can no man tame; it isan unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”.../

So we sure can try to overcome the tongue, and can do it... that in Me you may have peace. So be led by the Spirit.

I never thought of the two ( maybe more than two ) transformations.

Now as I type this (touch screen) there are some negative transformations too.

Negatives:
The fall from Eden
The fall to only evil continually
We will get to god with a tower (works ?)
Give us an earthly king
The cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches
Idol worship
We will prophecy our future

Positives: sometimes through suffering ( God does have to get our attention ).
Leave the garden
The flood
Babel
King Saul
Plagues, defeat before enemies (?)
Destruction of Jerusalem
He designs our Future

Gods works
No future flood ( promises )
King David ( after the heart of God )
John the Baptist ( awareness of sin )
Jesus ( forgiveness and eternal life and quickening spirit inside us)

God is the designer we are the workers. God gets the credit ( not us ).

God supplies the power: Holy Spirit - quickening spirit

God works in us the will and the to do. We are not the authors of our salvation. God gets the credit. We may get to the will but the power is His.

The word became The Son of God Jesus
Jesus became a quickening spirit ( do we invite Him in?)

Who gets the praise?

The Panama Canal IMHO was made on the the faith of man. How many died? How many wrecked their lives? They all worked in agreement. Was their goal the great commission? The pyramids exist by agreement of man. The Tower of Babel was stoped by God. Should not we realize some of our efforts are in vain? If we confess our sins He is ………

I have heard sermon after sermon on this.
Man can not tame his tongue.

If it gets tamed God did it. We can not do it.

At the last trump we are changed. In the world we will have tribulations.

Oh yeah, we can not do anything of ourselves but Christ in us can.
And He says fear not and walk through the valley of the shadow of death (earth, lol).
And 1000 will fall on your left side and 10,000 will fall on your right, but don't you be scared boi, because I have not given you a spirit of fear...
Uhh, ok Lord...

Wow. When God does something He does it big. He chose us before He even created the earth. So it's reasonable to assume that we knew Him well before we came here. We just woke up being born on earth with amnesia. But! He tells us that, even now, we are seated in Heavenly places with Him.

So we live in the matrix here but we're really in Heaven with the Lord, perhaps in a waiting room sitting around chatting with others who have part of their soul on earth right now also? But we're not unconscious up there. We're not in a drum full of amniotic fluid hooked up to the Duracell factory.

Can you imagine the conversation with Jesus when he walked up to us and said, I want you to go to the earth and learn some things for yourself, do you want to go?

Me: Can I pick my parents?

I bet you that if we didn't get to pick our parents then we at least agreed to who we would be born to. If there's one thing we know for sure, the Lord does not force anything on anyone. When we draw close to God, God will draw close to us.

I think it's safe to assu,e that before we came to earth and was living in Heaven...we really didn't have any clue about sin and death, for we had never known it before. Some things can only be learned through experience. So here we are, in the University of Brotherly Love, Located in the Valley of the Shadow of Death...

Oh my God! How could I have been so stupid?! Please Lord, tell me that there is some Wisdom in this in some way because I'm sure not feeling it!

After this semester is over, I don't want to ever re-register in this college! :wall

About set aside books of Bible.

Once upon a time.

A lady who taught Anatomy and Physiology sprang this on me.
I thought why is she telling me this?

During cell / DNA replication sometimes errors are made. A checking mechanism ( which I do not understand) identifies the error and archives it. Should the error show up again it can be identified quickly and avoided. In medicine this is called immunity.

Days later I am considering the set aside books of the Bible.
And it hits me:
In the Bible
When I read these set aside books I usually see the errors. The book of Job is not set aside. All errors are identified and contradicted. Very safe book to read. Full of errors of thought? Yes. However, Job or God answers all the wrong thoughts.

Jesus contradicted some Jewish tradition; as undoing the word of God.

Modern commentaries often contradict the word of God. That is what can happen here. Each statement can be examined and commented on. In agreement a or disagreement.

Getting to the concept seen:
In creation
In pre law
Under the law of Moses (Schoolmaster till Christ is revealed)
Law used lawfully
Grace of law put in our hearts and minds (not carnal thoughts)
One new man blending

Tests:
Who, when, where, why, how, how much, how many, however, therefore, thereby, type, shadow, good, evil, reason, outcome, temporal, eternal, reward, punishment — more

If the human body is complicated (made in the image of God )
it may help us see God. That does not mean study just human anatomy. It does not mean just study the Law.
In some cases it means a simple Jesus is every thing.
Jesus fulfilled the law.

So?
I do not usually study set aside books. Can they be used to spot error? Yes. Is it easy? No.

I am sorry, but the college never ends. How do you think the stony ground ( that is our heart ) becomes soil. Repentance breaks up another pebble? Do we let Jesus sow more seed of the word of God or do we allow another tare to be planted.

Here is where my sorrow is. I am into so many things that can only be changed at harvest time. Yanking up tares now does not work. Do I understand all this? No not fully. I am looking at this with welding goggles on. The following passage I need to read some more times with the Holy Spirit leading the way.

Matthew 13:30 kjv
30. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Now this is not referring directly to the individuals heart as such, but to people who are overcome by tares.

The heart is the ground
The heart is desperately wicked and deceitful above all things.

What is being planted in our heart? Confessing sins allows a cleansing. Do I understand this fully? N0.

He gives us a heart of flesh.

How does the video agree with the ground description?

God is the root that can be planted as a seed in our heart? Repentance can break up stone? The quickening spirit works how?
To will and do of his good pleasure.

I will try and listen to the video again.
