Eternal Union of Christ and His Children

Union will become manifest and experiential !


The Church, each member thereof, has no consciousness of their Union 'existence with Christ until they are born again by His Resurrection from the dead [1 Pet 1:3] or until they are quickened [Eph 2:1,5]. Now until such time they are born again, they are as others by nature, children of wrath, meaning worthy of wrath because of their manner of life [Eph 2:3], yet though they themselves are Vessels of Mercy having been made afore Rom 9:23; But yet and still their lot is as all men are by nature, alienated from the life of God , enemies in their mind by wicked works Col 1:21. They are experientially guilty and captive to sin and the devil according to his will, and they are completely unaware of a existence in Christ as one of His Branches, just as they were with their existence and union in Adam before being physically born of the flesh. So in order for them to be consciously aware of their existence in Christ they must be born again from above, and this they are by Christ's Resurrection from the Dead 1 Pet 1:3; Hence they are born of incorruptible seed [ 1 Pet 1:23] by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever. It is then they receive their experiential Union by Faith, because of the effects and fruit of the Spirit of which they are born, Faith gives them their experiential Union and Lively Hope !

Where did Eternal Life have it's beginning ?

Jn 1:1-4

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Obviously this Life in Him was Eternal and it belonged to men !

1 Jn 1:1-2

1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us )

That Eternal Life here is that Life in the Word in Jn 1:4, which belonged to men !

Eph 1:4

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

The Men are those of that Chosen seed or generation in Christ !

Now Eph 3:9 = Jn 1:1-4 This puts Jesus Christ before the Creation and as Creator.

That Life in the Word Jn 1:4 is what Paul means by Eph 1:4. This is a vital eternal union that the Church had with Christ before the world began 1 Jn 1:2

2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us)

So that Eternal Life the Saints take part of in Time, is a Life they had in seed form or seed substance in Jesus Christ their Head before the World began, so it began in Christ before the World began. So technically it never had a beginning. Those who are blessed to partake of it here in time, always had it in seed substance, hid in God, the Word Jn 1:4 !

Gal 2:20 Crucified with Christ !

Gal 2:20

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

This could not have been True of Paul if he was not in Union with Christ; and this is not exclusive of Paul, but is applied to all for whom Christ died. Just as Paul wrote that we were raised up together with Him, being Christ as Per Eph 2:5-6

5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved )

6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Therefore we [The Church, His Body] were Crucified together with Him !

The word crucified is the greek word systauroo:

to crucify alone with its made with the prefix preposition syn which means with !

The word is also perfect tense and passive voice, This crucifixion with took place in the past upon the subjects, once and for all completed with results into the present !

Paul here is teaching the Union that believers had with Christ in seed substance when He was Crucified.

The Church had the same seed substance with Adam when he died as a result of this Gen 2:17

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

If there was no real vital union between adam and his seed substance when he died after transgression, then it would not be true that we sinned when he sinned as Per Rom 5:12

12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death[died] passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Again, Paul saying that he was crucified with Christ, does not mean he was exclusive as a private person, but that he was one of many members of Christ body which was in Union with their Head as seed substance in Him when He was Crucified ! This is all related to Christ dying for our sins according to the scriptures ! Folks if you and i did not have this seed substance Union with Christ when He died for the sins of His Sheep, Church, then He did not die for our sins, simple as that !

When were they Created in Christ ?


Eph 2:10

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

When were they Created in Christ ? You see all those who are in Time saved by Grace through Faith, were created in Christ Jesus ! See 1 Tim 2:5 ; 2 Tim 1:9 unto Good Works, He hath before ordained, that we [ The Workmanship] should walk in them !

When was this Creation ? For it was in Christ the Anointed they were Created. Paul Tells us in 1 Cor 1:24 that Christ , the Anointed One is the Wisdom of God and the Power of God, we will explore the Wisdom of God. Christ that Wisdom of God is written of here in Prov 8:22-25

22The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

24When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

25Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

Now let it be understood that we are not referring to the Deity of Christ here, for that is unbegotten and un created and Eternally Self Existing as the Father and The Holy Ghost, but we are speaking of Christ as The Mediatoral Head of the Church, as the Beginning of the Creation of God Rev 3:14

14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

The Firstborn of every Creature Col 1:15

15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Christ was the Firstborn as the Wisdom of God, of Every Creature. The word firstborn is the greek word prōtotokos:


the firstborn

a) of man or beast

b) of Christ, the first born of all creation

He was the First Being brought Forth in His Mediatoral Person as the Son of God, thats why He is called the Only Begotten of the Father. See Jn 1:14,18;3:16,18; 1 Jn 4:9 !

Now again in His Being as the Essential Word, He was not God's Begotten Son, but Co Equal and Self Existing and Eternal, the Eternal Everlasting God, but as the Begotten Son, the Mediator [ 1 Tim 2:5] the Wisdom of God, and was possessed by God in the beginning Prov 8:22

22The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

This word possessed is a hebrew word qanah and means:


to get, acquire, create, buy, possess

a) (Qal)

1) to get, acquire, obtain

a) of God originating, creating, redeeming His people

Now this creating is in the sense of being begotten as Prov 8:25

before the mountains were settled, and before all hills, he begets me LXX.

Now that word beget is also defined as create or procreate !

Again, this refers to Christ as the Head of the Church and the Wisdom of God 1 Cor 1:24

24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Now as Christ and the Head of the Church Eph 5:23

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

If He was created before the Hills or beget, then so was His Seed in Him, thats when The Workmanship was Created in Christ Jesus Eph 2:10 refers to ! Yes, Then Created in Christ Jesus unto good works !

When were they Created in Christ ? cont


Now in Prov 8:23 it reads:

23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

This Entity called Wisdom, says I was set up, but when ? From Everlasting ! The word set up is revealing, it is the word nacak and means:


to pour out, pour, offer, cast

a) (Qal)

1) to pour out

2) to cast metal images

3) to anoint (a king)

b) (Niphal) to be anointed

He was Anointed, which is exactly what Christ means, the Anointed One

It also means pour out, or offer, libation : This is because He was to be pour out His Life unto God for a specific cause Isa 53:12

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

The words also denote that of making a Covenant because the ancients in making covenants were accustomed to pouring out libations ! So what we have here is Christ being set up as the Mediator and Surety of the Everlasting Covenant, Being installed as Prophet, Priest, and King, the Whole of His Mediatoral Offices as the Only Begotten Son of God. This is Him as the Firstborn of Every Creature in the Image of God His Father Col 1:15

15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Heb 1:2-3

2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Now, I believe we have the date given us when the Lord Jesus Christ was setup as the Mediator of the Church and also at this Time Believers in Christ were setup with Him, Chosen in Him, which are referenced in Prov 8:31

31Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

Those are the sons of men given Him in the Covenant of Grace, Chosen in Him before the foundation Eph 1:4, Grace given them in Him before the world began 2 Tim 1:9

Again vs 25 of Prov 8 says He was begotten See LXX, Christ the Only Begotten Son, and at this Time future believers were created or begotten in Christ Jesus, for they had been Chosen in Him; In the same Like principle of having been created in time in Adam, for it was said of Adam Gen 5:1-2

1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

When Adam was Created, in that One Man, also was Created His Bride and Posterity, in this He was a figure and Type of Christ, who had been Created or Begotten from Everlasting !

You know, If Christ did not already sustain a Legal Union of Onesess with them he legally in the Eyes of God Justice died and suffered the penalty of sin and lawbreaking, then He could not have legally died for them in the eyes of God's Law and Justice ! Its like a man can be legally held for his wifes indebtedness. Christ the Husband of His Bride, they are considered one flesh, the Twain is One Flesh Eph 5:31-32

31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

This formed the basis of vs 25 Eph 5:25


25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

It should go without saying that the vessels of wrath, the goats, the children of the devil, never had this legal union with Christ, and so they justly shall hear these words from Him Matt 7:23

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

These were never in Union with Christ, He was never their Head, and they were never members of His Body !

That New Man !


Eph 4:24

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Col 3:10

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The New Man, that New Entity that was born out of Christ, that Incorruptible Seed 1 Pet 1:23, that Man had an existence[seed substance] in Christ Jesus before the world began. The Lord Jesus Christ had a Mediatoral Existence in the Form of God before He became in the form of a servant Phil 2:5-6

5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

As Mediator before Creation He was in the form of God, He was the Man Christ Jesus 1 Tim 2:5, as such He had in Him that New Man in Seed substance, as Adam had in Him the Elects Old Man in Seed substance. The elect had their seed substance existence prior to and before their seed substance and earthly birth in Adam, before their Natural Birth from their parents, and before their New Birth out of Christ 1 Pet 1:23. Now this seed substance Life was not any type of developed life, but a seed substance Life in the Word of God, for John writes of it here Jn 1:4

4 In him[The Word] was life; and the life was the light of men.

Yes, this life had spiritual light with it !

This seed substance Life is also comparable to how Levi, being yet unborn and undeveloped , yet had a seed substance Life God says in the Loins of His Great Grand Father Abraham Heb 7:9-10

9And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

10For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

Later this Levitical Priesthood Life was made manifest in its ordained generation.

In like manner, the Life that the Elect had in Christ before the world began, is made manifest by its Birth into a New Man and a Spiritual Priesthood. However before that could happen there had to be an existence a Union in Christ as His Seed Substance, had to be Chosen In Him before the foundation of the world ! If not, we can never become that New Man of Eph 4:24 or Col 3:10

The scripture teaches that the Church and Christ are One, and that oneness did not commence in time, but was vital and spiritual before the world began. The writer of Hebrews in forms us that He that sanctifieth and they that are sanctified are all of One Heb 2:11

11For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Christ sanctifies those He died for by His Death alone ! Jn 17:19; Heb 10:10

Now these are all of One Speaking again of Christ the Head and the Church, His Body or Members. It is confirmed by Paul that they are one, so much so, that Christ and His Members are call Christ 1 Cor 12:12

12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

This same Truth characterized the First Adam with he and his members to include his wife Gen 5:1-2

1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Christ is the Last Adam, and what was true of the first Adam was True of Him, in fact the Last Adam [Thou First in Creation Col 1:15] was the standard by which the First Adam [First in time] was made, and being made with His Bride and Seed in him. Now recall that this Oneness or Union that Christ sustained with His Body the Church before the world began is vital or living, for this is collaborated we believe by pointing out a living or vital Union the Church had in it's earthly head Adam, who was a figure of Him [The Spiritual Head] to come Rom 5:14. Now it cannot be mistaken the Apostles Doctrine here, that the reign of death to his [ Adam] physical descendants was a result of their vital union and oneness with him !

The Natural man can receive the Union that Adam had with his Offspring, that existed in him when he was created out of the dust in the beginning of time, this being a Natural Union, we can see and understand the development if it with our Natural Understanding !

However it is not until God opens one Spiritual Understanding Col 1:9 that we can see that the Natural Union prefigured, was a Shadow of that Spiritual Union the Chosen had in Christ their Spiritual Head, their Mediator and Surety, as His Body the Church, which is the beginning Col 1:17-18

17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Yes, by Union, this means also that His Church is before all things as it existed in Him as His Seed ! For the Church was United to Christ it's Head before the world began, as His wife to be, Just as Eve was united to Adam and his wife to be before before being made or taken out of him !

In like manner, the wife of Christ is begotten out of Him 1 Pet 1:23

23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Life in Christ the Word was Eternal Union !


Jn 1:4

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

As there was a Union between God the Word and Christ Jesus, the Mediator Man 1 Tim 2:5;2 Tim 1:9, in Him, God the Word was Life, and this Life was the Light of Men !

What Life was in Him ? It was the Eternal Life of His Seed, which John calls in His Epistle Eternal Life 1 Jn 1:1-2

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us )

This Life Eternal is Seed Life and Spiritual in Christ, the last Adam, as Adam had seed life and natural life of the Elect in him.

Now this Life that was in the Word was also the Light of Men. The Light here is Spiritual light that naturally accompanies Spiritual Life.

Its the Light of Life Jesus speaks of here Jn 8:12


Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jesus is referring to that Life in Him Jn 1:4

And we know we have it, when we are following Him! Now who is it that shall follow Christ ? Why His Sheep whom He laid His Life down for. Jn 10:15-16,27,28

15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

They are following Him because they are having the Light of Life Jn 8:12.

This Life was given to them By Christ their Shepherd vs 28

28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The same Eternal Life of 1 Jn 1:1-2

2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us )

So He gives them to partake of that Spiritual seed Life they had with Him from the beginning in their Eternal Union with Him Jn 1:4

4In him was life; and the life was the light of men[His Sheep or Church].

Blessed Promise !

Rom 6:8

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

The ESV translates it correctly :Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

Now the question is, how is it we can be dead with Christ ? Or to have died with Him ? Is it by man's choice or freewill ? God forbid, but its by Union with Christ, Just like there had to be a Union with Adam to have died with him !

All that Christ, the Head of the Body, the Church, did and suffered was for His Body's Sake, which is the Church Col 1:24

24Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

Note: The Church or the Body in this context Col 1:24 would include the yet unconverted members, like also in 2 Tim 2:10

10Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes or The Body's sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

With that said, when Christ the Head met the claims of God's Law and Justice, His members, His Body, because of Union, they being also His Seed in Him, also met the claims of the Father's Law and Justice in Him ! When Christ the Head suffered, they suffered, when He died, they died, when the Head rose, they rose together with Him; and so who shall lay any charge on God's Elect ? For it's Christ [Their Head] that died, and also is risen, who also makes Intercession for His Member's, the Body ! So it is inevitable that everyone Christ died for will Believe in Him and Suffer for Him Phil 1:29

29For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Now if we died with Him, which all for whom He died did, then we shall also Live with Him , not only in this world, but that one to come !

Christ God's Elect !


Isa 42:1

1Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Rev 3:14

14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

The Lord Jesus Christ in His Election of God, which was before the world began,

He is the Beginning of the Election of grace[The Creation of God], His Body, the Church Col 1:17-18

17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

The Father's Election of Christ, was that of Headship, to His Body, which supposes also the Election of His Body, the Church in Him Eph 1:4,6

6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Now it is because of this a Eternal Legal Union of Christ and His Seed Gal 3:16, that He could become a debtor to God's Law and Justice Gal 4:4-5, on account of their apostasy from God in the sin and transgression of Adam their Natural and Federal Head, without a previous Federal and Eternal Union with Christ, there would have been no foundational and Legal basis existing for their sins to have legally charged or imputed to Him, for His satisfaction to God for them, neither would it any legal basis for His Righteousness to be imputed to them, and their Justification by it !

If persons would dare believe in Eternal Election of some in Christ before the foundation of the world, but yet refuse to believe in the Eternal Union with Christ is an unspeakable contradiction !

If the Elect were not in Christ, that is had a legal Union with Him before they became believers, before Christ went to the cross and died in their behalf, if they had not been in Him, He the Head, and they the Body, His Members before Law and Justice, then when He died for their sins 1 Cor 15:3, there could not have been any legal satisfaction for them in the cross of Christ, meaning Christ did not really legally die in their stead !

No Union, No Redemption !

Without a legal and vital Union of Oneness between Christ and the Sheep, there could not have been in the counsels of the Everlasting Covenant, a real imputation of their sins to Him as their Shepherd, in turn He would not have had a just cause to come into the world and lay down His Life for them, as He did Jn 10:11-15

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they[Sheep] might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Imputation is based upon Relation, and Relation on Union, if a legal Union did not exist from Everlasting, there was no bases for an Everlasting Covenant of Redemption, there would be no Justice in imputation, no Justice in holding the Shepherd liable for the sins of the Sheep !

Crucified with Christ !


It is because of union with Christ, which the Church had with her Federal Head, Jesus Christ, before they believed, scripture states that they were crucified with Him, risen with Him, and made to sit together with Him in heavenly places, for these are Truths of scripture.

Rom 6:8

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Gal 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Note, Everyone Christ died for, He gave himself for, and they were crucified with him in the Divine Purpose of God !

Rom 6:4

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

This verse promises the New Birth of all who died with Christ and was buried with Him !

Col 2:12

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

This being raised with Him also ensures the New Birth. The word risen here is the greek word synegeirō and means:


to raise together, to cause to raise together

2) to raise up together from mortal death to a new and blessed life dedicated to God

And egeirō does mean :

to raise up i.e. cause to be born

Thats the same doctrine Peter teaches about the resurrection of Christ 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

It causes us to be born again by the Spirit, to a new and blessed life dedicated to the Will of God !. These are sure blessings from God through Jesus Christ, because of our Union with Him, if we be of the election of grace !

Eternal Union with Christ before the foundation of the World by Eternal Election, is the foundation for believing in Christ in time, for it was by Eternal Union and Election that he had an Interest in Us, and though unknown to us for a time that we had a interest in Him, faith is given in the New Birth for one to discover their interest in Him, by Eternal Election and union, and so Paul does write of the Faith of God's Elect, according to the Promise of Eternal Life before the World began Titus 1:1-2

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

So no doubt Paul had previously Preached these blessed Truths to Titus before !
