[_ Old Earth _] Evolution Goes To Court

The founding fathers wanted government and Christianity to be in an insoluble bond.

Not possible. The founders, in the Treaty with Tripoli, declared that the United States is not founded on the Christian religion.

That's how it is. They certainly thought religion was good, and most of them believed in Christianity. But they wanted the government out of it. Read Madison's "Against Religious Assessments" to learn why.

Actually, I both read the post & caught up on all the threads where it just fit in so amazingly...

As does today's CT offering

I must be particularly dense this morning. Can you explain how this fits this thread?

Essentially, it's often down to interpretation, dictated by basic worldview

Does that help?

(I'm kinda half asleep at the moment - but hey, it's nearlythe weekend!

The good doctor notwithstanding religious leaders ought to stay out of the teaching of science in the school system whether in the US or Canada.

If they want religion taught let it be done in a separate class devoted to comparative religions or some such subject. Creationism does not belong in a science class.
