Why evolution and the Bible don't mix

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned

MAN introduced death into the world because of sin

Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

If evolution is true, slow gradual changes over millions of years of death brought man into the world. The Bible and evolution are teaching 2 different things. Note that the Bible calls death an enemy

1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

When reading 1COR15 you can clearly see that PHYSICAL death is being discussed and it is described as an enemy that Christ has defeated through his resurrection. PRAISE HIM!
So then you cannot have death in the world (as evolution teaches) millions of years before Adam's sin. BOTH EVOLUTION AND THE BIBLE CANNOT BE TRUE-they teach different things!

Rom 8:18-19 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Because of death and sin the whole creation is futile according to the Bible.

Rom 8:20-22 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

But we know that during the Millennial Reign of Christ Or if you are an amillennialist during the new heavens and the new earth; the creation will be restored. DEATH because of sin is what wrecked the creation.

THEISTIC evolution seriously downplays the fall of man. Without a clear understanding of how huge the Fall was, how can we fully grasp the work of the atonement? Evolution wars against the plan of salvation.

Adam did not physically die on the day he ate the fruit. Adam did spiritually die on the day he ate the fruit. God said that Adam would die on the day he ate the fruit. Either God is a liar, or the death that is being spoken of is spiritual. My God doesn't lie.

Yep, that pretty much rules out a literal, physical death.

Unless God is untruthful.

You have to believe one or the other. Not much of a decision, is it?

I had always gotten a different reading of the garden of Eden than most Christians. I thought the story better translated that God had caught two humans. He promised to keep them safe and healthy and free of any harms or challenges. However, He allowed for a choice to be made.

Adam and Eve maybe saw Eden as a zoo. There is nothing to do but be content. There is nothing to gain or strive for since all is provided. Life is too easy and there were no more challenges. So Adam and Eve chose to leave Eden and go back to the hardship of ordinary life. However, they had the ability to grow and overcome all that life threw at them.

So my reading of it focused on a friendly choice rather than some weird rules with ignorance ruling the day and then followed with a lot of incest to populate the planet.

this is a easy one

because some just cant take the fact that we came from apes

and they just dont want to hear anything but that evolution is wroung

i am not ashamed that i came from a ape along time ago but i am ashamed that the race of men does not want to look back and remember our real past

we had to fight tooth and claw to get to the top and now that we think we are at the top of the food chain and then say that we where put on this earth this way at the top i mean

As a few others have pointed out, it's not physical death that is being spoken of, it's spiritual. That is what many people believe the fall was, a spiritual death.

Physical death is what helps life remain here on Earth. If there was no death, things would get out of hand. Earth would be overwhelmed with life that couldn't die.

Science itself studies what many consider to be God's Creation, and if a book written by fallible mean, and interpreted by fallible men contradicts what is shown in the Universe, then it is the interpretation that's wrong, not the Universe.

MAN introduced death into the world because of sin

The normal housefly has a lifespan of less than a month. And it lays roughly 500 eggs.

500 new flies a month with no deaths.

Worker bees (90% of the the hive) only live a 2-3 months as well....

My guess is that Eden would't be quite the paradise it purports to be after a only a few months of this situation.

So, basically, if God created us with the intention to not physically die, then he could not have intended us to reproduce because the world would have been shortly overrun by life. Since God certainly did create us with sex organs, we can infer that he always intended us to reproduce. This logical fact, combined with what God actually says in the creation account, makes it quite certain that physical death was part of God's original creation.

Sounds logically consistent with me.

"logically consistent WITH me" ....I'm sure that is a typo Quath, but it made me laugh.

Unless you are talking about the reproductive organs being "consistent with me".....hahaha

:B-fly: hmmmm.................................... Adam is no longer here. It appears that he did die!
Man would have never died had he not listened to the liar and sinned against God. Sounds like death entered into the world the same time sin did!!!

8-) Ta',hee,hee,hee!!!
The world would not over populate because people would not have sex
unless they were married to one another. It would take forever to get even half the people in the world that we have today if people did things the way God intended for them to be.
It's silly to believe that God could not control the population of the world, first of all,but to say that the world would be full of people like we have today is really an extreme exercise into the thinking of the ignorant.
Like the bible says, the fool invites a beating upon his back.

:B-fly: What folly!!!
God said to be fruitful and multiply, but when he said this,he meant to do it
in an orderly way,not go out and fornicate and commit sin to do it!!!
Do you think the abortion clinics control population? I don't think they do,when teenage mother's are everywhere you look today!!!
I am sure that the world would not be as populated as it is today if people
had listened to God. Sex without the benefit of marriage wouldn't exist!!!

Did plants have seeds and grow? If so, they would have taken over the garden unless they could die. Could we digest food without bacteria in our intestines? If the bacteria could not die, they would fill us up until we could no longer pass food. Did God magically change animals to be meat eaters and gave them sharp teeth that were bad for plants?

Where there is no death, there can be no growth. (Cubedbee pointed this out on another thread.)

8-) Are you aware that nature is not as pure or as good as it once was?
Do you not know that sin affected everything in the world?
Out of control behavior is not of God!
Do you know that while the snake will one day exist again on the earth,it will still always crawl on it's belly?
Why was the snake also punished along with Adam & Eve?

Yeah, if it weren't some apple being eaten, animals wouldn't reproduce.

:Fade-color I know my God cannot lie,amen.
Adam could not spiritually die,or he could not be saved.
Adam did die physically, and his body began to age the very day
he dis-obeyed God!!!
Sin causes people to age much faster. I have seen actual teenagers who
look older than me,and kids with wrinkles, and adults who look twice their age who are lost and worldly.
Sin causes people to get sick alot more often and it causes a seared conscious.
Adam is not around today,he did die physically, but not spiritually!
The soul cannot die.
when the wicked dead are raised, they may most likely have bodies again when they are thrown into the lake of fire. Those bodies may not ever die,and they may live forever like the soul, because people were made to live forever.

:B-fly: Oh',you must be talking about the fruit from one tree that Adam & Eve were instructed not to eat from.
One tree out of the whole garden doesn't seem like alot to ask of someone
to me,after all, they had all the others to choose from.
I'm not saying I could have done better than Adam & Eve,it's just clear that God was right, and man was wrong.
Why is it still a problem today?
Man can have everything he needs, yet he still wants what does not belong to him. If God cannot get anyone to listen to him, then how can any one get someone to listen to them? And if they could, what right would
they have to do so?
If you told someone they could use anything they wanted in your house except one thing, would you have that right?
If you judge a Holy God,how much more do you deserve to be judged?
The fool invites a beating upon his own back.
It is the fool who says in his heart that there is no God.

You are wrong. Adam and Eve had three male children that we know about. Let's say that 3 children would be the average for a family. Now, each of Adam and Eve's 3 children would have had 3 children. Each of these 9 children would have 3 children of their own. Each generation would triple in population.

People back then used to live longer and have children later, so let's say that each generation is 100 years. The creation occured about 6000 years ago, so that's 60 generations. If you triple the population 60 times, you end up with 4.24 x 10^28 people. That's 4 billion billion billion people. We currently have 6 billion. Adjust my numbers how ever you want, and the results are the same. Even if you say the average family only would have 2 kids and they would have those kids when they were 150, there would still be over a trillion people.
