Faith and/or good works ?

God doesnt reject those who accept him but those that don't? and you think God doesnt have a rejecting nature? You're contradicting yourself Jim.

Actually Nuked Kitty NO I am not.
To say God has a rejecting nature is going against who He is. God is Love according to the written word.
Now when God HAS to reject someone ((NOT HIS CHOICE OR DESIRE TO DO SO)) it's NOT because He has a rejecting nature...He has to because the one standing right there in front of Him HAS REJECTED HIM ALL THIER LIFE. What choice does He have ? Go against His word and say ahhhh your such a cute little kid, what the heck, come on in ?

Think about like this......You wanna go to the movies but it takes a special ticket,,,,No special ticket then no get into the movie.. No other ticket will work only the pre set special ticket made just for that movie....
Well it's like that with Getting into Heaven or spending eternity with the Father. He has set forth one way in and that takes His special ticket,,,,The BLOOD OF CHRIST.....Now your standing at the door, saying I did this for youand I did that and hey I have a ticket saying I went to church every single sunday.....Then the Father says, yes but do you have MY special ticket , that pressious blood of Christ which I offered you over and over ?

Oh so I see you don't. See where I am going with this.........God does not wish that one should perish.
You have to have seen this is your reading of the word. So when He has to reject one, it truly breaks His heart.
Remember reading about Jesus weeping ? Study that once and see what you find.....
Now is this a better picture for you.....

What about God rejecting people in the here and now, they havent got to the cinema yet and he still rejects them.

WHAT are you talking about ? Even when people reject God in the here and now He does not reject them.
WE are under a time of GRACE......He is allowing people to figure it out and turn to Him. Another words HE IS BEING PATIENT with man kind BUT the day is coming when it will be done. NO re-do's...NO reboots....No sticking another quarter in the machine and getting another spin around this planet...NO once it is done it is done and the fat lady dont have to sing for this one and the cows dont have to come home and jump over the moon.

BUT until that day comes......GRACE........GRACE......GRACE IS WHAT WE ARE UNDER......
This here and now rejecting does not make sense.......

Our Lord doesn't reject people in the here and now. He gives people every opportunity to choose Him.
Didnt you read Deuteronomy 32.

THE SONG OF MOSES
OHHHHHH Boy I see.....Have you not read the new testament ? Read about the new covenant through the shedding of Chirst Blood? Have you not read about GRACE.......iT USED TO BE SAID AN EYE FOR AN EYE......Is it that way now?

I actually do know an example, but I what I don't know is if you would accept it as valid testimony. Supposedly, the Buddha is in Hell. He is burning in the lake of fire. Despite instigating one of the most widespread (if not the most widespread) humanitarian movements in mankind's history. Why would such a man be in Hell? Gautama Siddhartha was an athiest. By definition he failed to accept God's offer of salvation (and it doesn't matter that he lived before Jesus. Dad's been around for quite a long time).

It is possible a finite mind will not get this. Ok so let's do an analogy in which Buddha is a tiny ant directing throngs of ants to go a certain way. But that way is not where the ant creator wanted them to go. We can work hard but if it is on a dead end our work could be heartfelt and not ever bear fruit. Our tiny tiny minds just might not realize it.

I did not understand what you are saying here.

God rejected his own people for rejecting his Son. He will do the same to anyone else who rejects the gospel if they persist in their unbelief. How long does it take before he does that? I do not know. I just know he will do it, but that he is also patient and long suffering.

Just wanted you to explain what you said about eye for an eye.....:)

The point is, since we don't have to 'keep' this commandment anymore...

19 'If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him:
20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him.
Leviticus 24:19-20 NASB

...it's, therefore, impossible to use anything in the old testament to prove anything.

Oh, Sorry.
I was making a quick point in refference of the new verse old. Old you read about an eye foe an eye. Kind of like vengeance for being wronged butin the New we are taught vengeance is the Lords. We are to walk in love and forgivness.....quinntar seemed to be stuck in the old and was taking how God was then and applying it today.
Yes God never changes BUT He swore to not destroy man once He placed this new covenant into place. It's called GRACE.....That is what that was about....

It's not that you can't use anything from the law to make a point about God today. It's just that you have to do that with wisdom and understanding. IOW, use the law properly, as Paul says. I don't think Deuteronomy 32:18-20 NASB was being used improperly.

Yes, I knew that, the new covenant has replaced the old. :)
By the way, eye for eye was not abolished in this New Covenant. It finds it's fulfillment in Christ. Christ is the eye for eye, tooth for tooth, life for life that we owe and the law demands.

Since we are all human this capacity we have to use or not use properly causes a space where contention could arise, which is why for myself I won't judge others in any of this. I can't. I do understand that some feel convicted to do that but for me, no. As a woman I'd rather focus on what we agree on, which is that we have accepted Jesus and we follow him. I don't think salvation relies on if I had a better or worse interpretation of the bible. And I don't want to correct other Christians. I want to leave that to the inner teacher, for me personally, while I do get that others will take this differently and feel compelled to teach others the right interpretation. I find this, for me personally, awful. I don't want anyone to teach me and I don't want to teach anyone. I refuse to be corrected, or taught, by any but the Lord or by my own rereading of scriptures. I DO appreciate when others explain what they think or show me scripture BUT not when it is part of an effort to CORRECT me, only as an effort to share. Big difference for me personally, because of my very harsh upbringing. I run from human teachers as if they were a plague. It does a disservice to christianity when we judge each other, and I for one despise it. The focus is LOVE not knowledge and how we interpret it. (Leave that for the pharisees.) LOVE. I feel it is important to keep this in mind, I am not trying to berate anyone or criticize anyone. It's a line and I think staying on the side of Love is better than being on the side of knowledge.
