Faith is a covenant blessing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jer 31:

31Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

For those of you who realize what Gods old testament covenant people Israel was ever plauged with, was that of unbelief, no faith..

rom 11:

20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear

This unbelief peeked at the rejection of Jesus christ as the messiah.

But we cant be hard on the those people, because all by nature are unbelievers..yes jew or gentile, doesnt matter, all are unbelievers by mere physical birth and existence alone..

But God had a plan in motion from the beginning of time, and this plan secured the faith in the messiah, the saviour of Gods people..

This plan is the new covenant blessings, confirmed and ratified by the surety of the covenant, whereby God bestows all spiritual blessings upon a people that ensures Faith in His Son the Lord Jesus christ..

notice in the text what God promised to do for a covenant people:

33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

God here , declares I WILL put laws in the hearts of this people..

One of the laws that God puts into this people is the Law of faith..

rom 3:

27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Amen, the Law of faith excludes boasting from the elect of God. Why, because faith was put into them by the new covenant blessings of the blood of christ..

Faith is given to a people because of Gods sovereign promise to do something for and in a certain people..in other words, it [faith] is not of ones self, its the gift of God's Sovereign work and promise in accordance to the blood of christ, the blood of the new covenant..matt 28:

28For this is my blood of the new testament[ covenant], which is shed for many[ house of israel] for the remission of sins.

The law of faith is put into the many for which the blood was shed..

You see, faith or believing on christ is a spiritual law..notice 1 jn 3:

23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

believing on the name of Jesus christ and loving ones brother are spiritual commandments, not natural..

ezk also refers to this covenant blessing causing the people to do Gods commandments ezk 36:

26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Upon regeneration and recieving a new heart and the renewing of the Holy Ghost [ titus 3:5]

God says the peole will be caused to keep gods statues and Judgements..in other words, His spiritual commandments, which first and foremost is the Law of Faith..

The Just shall [ not might] live by Faith..

rom 1:

17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

the shall live by faith is premised on the Gods will put his law in their inward parts [and this ensures they will keep gods statues and Judgments]..a blessing of the new covenant which Jesus christ is the surety and mediator of..

This excludes all boasting, the law of faith is opposed to the Law of works, or doing before life is given, the law of faith is now having been given life , you will do as it is God working in you to both will and do of His good pleasure..

phil 2:

13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

again as this stands related to the blood of the covenant heb 13:

20Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

is faith in christ well pleasing in Gods sight ? is living a life of faith well pleasing in Gods sight ?

if one believes in christ today, if one has faith today, it comes to them from God through jesus christ, to Him be glory forever and ever..

its througn His covenant blood..
